Jenny, Saturday, 29 December 2007 20:07 (eighteen years ago)

dan m, Saturday, 29 December 2007 21:13 (eighteen years ago)

I changed to Kraftwerk about 30 seconds after I replied to Jesse.

Jenny, Saturday, 29 December 2007 21:16 (eighteen years ago)

I am drunk in Chicago. Chicago has also fed me well with foods from a variety of lands. Chicago will also be getting me tattooed tomorrow if all goes well.

Thank you Chicago, even if you are super goddamn cold.

joygoat, Sunday, 30 December 2007 06:41 (eighteen years ago)

lol conventioneer

dan m, Sunday, 30 December 2007 16:03 (eighteen years ago)

MLA?

Eazy, Sunday, 30 December 2007 17:08 (eighteen years ago)

we are back, drove straight from asheville to chicago yesterday, hardcore

n/a, Sunday, 30 December 2007 17:10 (eighteen years ago)

Yes, MLA. Professor Wife is on a job search committee and has spent most of her time in a hotel room interviewing people while I slept late and wandered gaily about.

joygoat, Sunday, 30 December 2007 17:42 (eighteen years ago)

I went to the MLA when it was in Chicago in 1999. Good times. My proudest moment was meeting Michael Berube.

jaymc, Sunday, 30 December 2007 18:38 (eighteen years ago)

we are offering up an HP DeskJet 842C desktop printer and a kinda crappy Ikea TV table thingy (like something you would put your TV on, with a little shelf for a DVD player or whatever, with rolly wheels) for free if anyone wants them. trying to get the computer area little more organized.

n/a, Sunday, 30 December 2007 20:09 (eighteen years ago)

interested in the printer! i was just talking to kenan yesterday about the stuff i'd need if i ended up selling crafts online and a printer was one of those things.

i might want the tv table too, come to think of it. depending on its size. i'll email you.

JuliaA, Sunday, 30 December 2007 21:21 (eighteen years ago)

happy new yearz eve

n/a, Monday, 31 December 2007 13:33 (eighteen years ago)

new times new viking album = awesome, and it inspired me to write lyrics for a new song in like five minutes

n/a, Monday, 31 December 2007 13:34 (eighteen years ago)

hey that's me

n/a, Monday, 31 December 2007 14:25 (eighteen years ago)

So far, there's no one at work, but I figure I should wait until 10 or so to leave, to be on the safe side. There aren't any notes, emails or messages about being closed though...

KitCat, Monday, 31 December 2007 14:46 (eighteen years ago)

weird ... do you have work to do or are you just waiting around?

n/a, Monday, 31 December 2007 14:58 (eighteen years ago)

My ride/accomplice to Madison bailed, so no MoDigDo for New Years.

Here's hoping you get a nice walk through the fog at 10, Sarah.

Eazy, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:02 (eighteen years ago)

Thanks!

I have been working, but there's not much left to do without consulting other folks about some things.

KitCat, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:05 (eighteen years ago)

Ooh, call them at home!

Eazy, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:09 (eighteen years ago)

Ha ha. Well, three coworkers just showed up, BUT if no one else shows, we plan to leave at noon.

KitCat, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:15 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, the back door just buzzed three more times in a row. So sad.

KitCat, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:20 (eighteen years ago)

oh well, thanks anyway, eazy.

there is like nooooone here today.

Jordan, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:34 (eighteen years ago)

there is a NYE party at the shark reef

that is where we are going

n/a, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:35 (eighteen years ago)

That is prolly where I will end up too, if it does not get so cold that I question going way across town.

Eazy, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:37 (eighteen years ago)

i have been sick with a cold
spending days in my robe, not being able to breathe or smell or taste anything, searching for the comforting things and not finding them
last night i made and ate potato leek soup even though i could not taste it at all
today i think i hit rock bottom while listening to this:

KitCat, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:46 (eighteen years ago)

i have sunk to solo westerberg
on the bright side, i did find it a little bit comforting

i have also been snorting salt water out of a bowl

La Lechera, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:47 (eighteen years ago)

Eazy, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:51 (eighteen years ago)

that's the "missing stanza" of "One"

La Lechera, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:54 (eighteen years ago)

I very much like the song called "Knock It Right Out" on the Solo Westerberg Mono. The rest of it goes in one ear and out the other.

Eazy, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:57 (eighteen years ago)

i almost never do anything for new year's eve, it usually just seems like people trying way too hard to have fun, but sharque haus will be good times with fun people

n/a, Monday, 31 December 2007 15:59 (eighteen years ago)

xp yeah i don't remember that album at all, even thought it is sitting there next to my other westerbergs

i see a straight line from 16 blue through achin to be to runaway wind where paul is telling "me" that he "sees something in me that no one else sees." it's like another one of his stock songwriting themes. when i was lonely and younger i really liked hearing this. now i just hear the parts about covering up gray hairs.

i remember i saw him on this tour when i was in college and a roadie invited me on the tour bus and i almost went because hey i was 19 and why not but then i remembered that i was 19 and who knows what could happen to me.

paul westerberg roadies seemed not so savory. somewhere in my college crap is a poloroid of me and paul westerberg in a friendly embrace.

La Lechera, Monday, 31 December 2007 16:05 (eighteen years ago)

Heh, my high-school parties were not with high schoolers but with 'mats roadies. But they weren't unsavory as much as Wire-loving tech guys. One of them drove an old-school ambulance. They were how I thought grownups lived.

Eazy, Monday, 31 December 2007 16:09 (eighteen years ago)

i have a hangover headache and it's making me want to curb my drinking tonight.

Jordan, Monday, 31 December 2007 16:11 (eighteen years ago)

Mr. K. should do a new edit of his movie and call it Roadie, and it would just be footage of Ken V. loading and unloading his equipment.

Eazy, Monday, 31 December 2007 16:12 (eighteen years ago)

not going out tonite
;_;

same here. unless i go to the laundromat.

chicago kevin, Monday, 31 December 2007 16:12 (eighteen years ago)

hehehe that would be a very popular movie

maybe i would have had a perfectly nice time on that tourbus, then. all they told me was that they had "15 cases of beer" and i was like uhhhhhhhh i don't need 15 cases of beer and a bunch of dudes i've never met to be closed up on a bus with me but thanks.

They were how I thought grownups lived.
adorable

La Lechera, Monday, 31 December 2007 16:14 (eighteen years ago)

they had 'sheriff' available for rent at a random video store i wandered into in asheville

n/a, Monday, 31 December 2007 16:15 (eighteen years ago)

La Lechera, Monday, 31 December 2007 16:16 (eighteen years ago)
