Yes, MLA. Professor Wife is on a job search committee and has spent most of her time in a hotel room interviewing people while I slept late and wandered gaily about.

I went to the MLA when it was in Chicago in 1999. Good times. My proudest moment was meeting Michael Berube.

we are offering up an HP DeskJet 842C desktop printer and a kinda crappy Ikea TV table thingy (like something you would put your TV on, with a little shelf for a DVD player or whatever, with rolly wheels) for free if anyone wants them. trying to get the computer area little more organized.

interested in the printer! i was just talking to kenan yesterday about the stuff i'd need if i ended up selling crafts online and a printer was one of those things.

i might want the tv table too, come to think of it. depending on its size. i'll email you.

i see a straight line from 16 blue through achin to be to runaway wind where paul is telling "me" that he "sees something in me that no one else sees." it's like another one of his stock songwriting themes. when i was lonely and younger i really liked hearing this. now i just hear the parts about covering up gray hairs.

i remember i saw him on this tour when i was in college and a roadie invited me on the tour bus and i almost went because hey i was 19 and why not but then i remembered that i was 19 and who knows what could happen to me.

paul westerberg roadies seemed not so savory. somewhere in my college crap is a poloroid of me and paul westerberg in a friendly embrace.

Heh, my high-school parties were not with high schoolers but with 'mats roadies. But they weren't unsavory as much as Wire-loving tech guys. One of them drove an old-school ambulance. They were how I thought grownups lived.

i have a hangover headache and it's making me want to curb my drinking tonight.

Mr. K. should do a new edit of his movie and call it Roadie, and it would just be footage of Ken V. loading and unloading his equipment.
