I looked at "achewood dot com" today because nothing fills my heart with more joy than a long-dead web comic displaying its last update, an unfunny mess that came after an erratic tapering off period, an unfunny mess optimistically promising lots and lots more updates! Updates all the time! He's got it on a randomizer, though, so if I wanted to see the one last futile promise of lots more content...it's there somewhere. Somewhere in my heart! If I ever commit suicide, that's the kind of note I'd leave. "Lots of updates, I promise!"

Women in thin white sweaters and tall leather boots with spiky heels were physically moving around on top of the cream colored carpet in ways that said, “Sex with me will be a painfully one-sided, seven thousand pound letdown after a long, horrible night of lying to yourself.” One particularly wild woman had taken her shoes off. Perhaps she had been at Woodstock, or knew how to hold an ocarina.

I know I'll probably ultimately be disappointed by another story that goes nowhere, but I like these new ones a lot

i'm enjoying the inscrutability of the new strips, so far.

it really doesn't seem like he wants to write Achewood anymore, he's just using the characters because they give him more of an audience than if he started something new.

every time this thread is revived i end up rereading a bunch of achewood and just falling in love with it again.

I can't help but think that this is a horrible misstep. Then again, the Drinky Crow show was good for its short but entertaining run. But, achewood...

Onstad's clean lines should make this fairly cheap and easy to animate, which that snippet sort of confirms (to the extent that ten seconds of video can confirm anything).

Can't watch the clip till I get home, but I find it extremely hard to imagine a real life voice that would capture Roast Beef.

There are no voices in the clip.
