while i'm at it i may as well report that joey barton's been working on the team spirit at loftus rd this morning by destroying one of jay bothroyd's ugg boots

bothroyd for his part is "loving the banta"

McCarthy has one more spare place in his squad after naming 24 players this season and believes other options might also attract Wolves.

He said: “There will be out-of-contract players going to different clubs. One might pop up that’s suitable and if they do, of course we’ll consider it.

“El-Hadji Diouf is out of contract and Steed Malbranque has paid his up at St Etienne.”

I know this is bullshit but I'm still all a-flutter.

either would be great, who do you need more

hipstery nayme (darraghmac), Thursday, 8 September 2011 14:09 (fourteen years ago)

Why would you need Dioufy? Apart from the entertainment value? And I don't mean footballing entertainment.

Euripides Trousers (Tom D.), Thursday, 8 September 2011 14:10 (fourteen years ago)

Dioufy wd bring some much needed grit and maybe a few more goals

the Paul Squires of mean-spirited moaning and cynicism (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 8 September 2011 14:10 (fourteen years ago)

he is a massive grit

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 8 September 2011 14:11 (fourteen years ago)

like Fletcher-Doyle is a no-brainer at the moment and i think Seb has been undervalued by McCarthy but after that our striking options are thin

the Paul Squires of mean-spirited moaning and cynicism (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 8 September 2011 14:11 (fourteen years ago)

He was shit for Rangers (xp)

Euripides Trousers (Tom D.), Thursday, 8 September 2011 14:11 (fourteen years ago)

that proves he's got a good heart imo

the Paul Squires of mean-spirited moaning and cynicism (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 8 September 2011 14:12 (fourteen years ago)

Obv. he was too dim to realise what he'd gotten himself into and that might have affected his form

Dioufy wd bring some much needed grit

He's a snide cynical diving fuck who gets involved in all kinds of shit and provokes frequent handbags episodes but grit? No.

Good enough player though.

the art of posting sideways (onimo), Thursday, 8 September 2011 15:17 (fourteen years ago)

yah i think dioufy brings a sense of good old fashioned allardycean grit stylings without rly bringing the actual grit

Vision Kreayshawn Newsun (Le Bateau Ivre), Friday, 9 September 2011 06:13 (fourteen years ago)

wolves, eh. Bogey team iirc. Gonna hold off on judgement of anything til adebayor gets a few games.

Sandro on long term deal. Seems pre-emptive tbh, but he was great last year.

Adebayor Sandro and, so far, friedel sort three problem positions from last season. Wish we'd got cahill tho.

hipstery nayme (darraghmac), Friday, 9 September 2011 12:02 (fourteen years ago)

Big step up for us after the first 3 games, obv. Apparently we're starting the same team as the last 3 matches, which is pleasing. Still unsure about how much our liability players have improved, Bale will murder Stearman for pace so I'm hoping there's some kind of masterplan lol as if.

the Paul Squires of mean-spirited moaning and cynicism (Noodle Vague), Friday, 9 September 2011 12:28 (fourteen years ago)

the masterplan was that it would be crouch waiting for the cross. Ooooh, bad luck

hipstery nayme (darraghmac), Friday, 9 September 2011 12:32 (fourteen years ago)

hoping McCarthy is lying and suddenly Zubar will turn up from wherever he's got him locked up

http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2011/09/07/richard-stearman-stays-at-right-back/

No, apparently Mick is just being a dick.

NB: I like Stearman and he's been decent at RB but he's already been turned by slower wingers than Bale this season.

the Paul Squires of mean-spirited moaning and cynicism (Noodle Vague), Friday, 9 September 2011 12:36 (fourteen years ago)

the masterplan is whenever bale goes forward take out a cardboard cutout of robin van persie up the other end so that adebayor will run 90 yards across the pitch towards the cardboard to stamp on it.

Gary Numan, or Gary Fletcher (ken c), Friday, 9 September 2011 12:40 (fourteen years ago)

it's so crazy that it might just work

as long as you don't expect dawson to pay attention to it, like

hipstery nayme (darraghmac), Friday, 9 September 2011 12:44 (fourteen years ago)

Won't work, the cardboard cutout of RVP is injured iirc

Vision Kreayshawn Newsun (Le Bateau Ivre), Friday, 9 September 2011 12:47 (fourteen years ago)

on a point of information-

A cardboard cutout of van persie, sir, would be considerably less injury-prone than the original, we may safely assume.

hipstery nayme (darraghmac), Friday, 9 September 2011 12:50 (fourteen years ago)

"The privilege is in part offset however by the significant personal focus which has at times, detracted from the magnificent achievements of those working at the football club.

"It is that factor, together with my error of judgement in this matter that has prompted me to reach this decision, which I believe is in the best interests of the football club."

Where are people getting their dodgy internet streams from these days? I had been relying on myp2p.eu but that appears to have been killed. Want to watch the Spurs v Wolves game but can't be arsed trawling for ages. Is live footy doctor serv or whatever still good?

Matt DC, Saturday, 10 September 2011 12:03 (fourteen years ago)

http://www.soccertvlive.net/ is decent

OK, so Asamoah Gyan's gone on loan to a club in Saudi Arabia? Whaaaaa?

hipstery nayme (darraghmac), Saturday, 10 September 2011 12:07 (fourteen years ago)

hipstery nayme (darraghmac), Saturday, 10 September 2011 12:07 (fourteen years ago)

They did just get Mr. 10 out of 9 in confidence. Don't need anyone else

Number None, Saturday, 10 September 2011 12:09 (fourteen years ago)

There's now myp2p.bz but it's a bit shitty compared to the old one.

James Mitchell, Saturday, 10 September 2011 12:14 (fourteen years ago)

I can only assume that Sunderland were paying Gyan some suicidally high wages in a fit of post-World Cup idiocy. Very good player but hasn't quite set the Premiership alight. Although he might still have.

Matt DC, Saturday, 10 September 2011 12:42 (fourteen years ago)

scored ten goals last year, that's not a bad start.

LocalGarda, Saturday, 10 September 2011 12:47 (fourteen years ago)

Bruce has claimed that the constant speculation linking him with bigger clubs and higher wages elsewhere affected him mentally.

A little bit like Peter Crouch but with more mobility (ShariVari), Saturday, 10 September 2011 12:53 (fourteen years ago)

Although, interestingly, they didn't get a single bid for him.

A little bit like Peter Crouch but with more mobility (ShariVari), Saturday, 10 September 2011 12:54 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah I'm not saying 10 goals in his first season is bad at all, especially in a team as workmanlike as Sunderland, but if they are paying him crazy wages then it might not be considered worth it, hence the loan.

Either that or Gyan just hates Sunderland. I feel a bit sorry for Sunderland fans, no one ever seems to want to stay there.

Matt DC, Saturday, 10 September 2011 12:56 (fourteen years ago)

http://atdhenet.tv/ still the most consistent site for streams, ime

mizzell, Saturday, 10 September 2011 13:12 (fourteen years ago)

I use vipbox.tv, though recently a lot of the streams have that annoying screen asking for a mobile phone number
