"the referee was perfect" was quite annoying though

cunty imo

Upt0eleven, Wednesday, 7 September 2011 16:46 (fourteen years ago)

Sorry about that, Darragh. I'm a bit sensitive at the moment; one of our 'legends' recently raised the possibility that some Liverpool supporters may have been to blame for Hillsborough. The same legend who quipped "Perhaps we can get back to the football" on Truth Day in 2007, and only yesterday made a sly comment about Rafa, having used Hillsborough to attack him and turn the fans against him last year. Fed up and pissed off, but no excuse.

Chris, Wednesday, 7 September 2011 17:12 (fourteen years ago)

Mark Lawrenson.

Chris, Wednesday, 7 September 2011 17:17 (fourteen years ago)

deems' rafa hate is one of the most inexplicably unhinged vendettas of his

he gives the impression of being a nice enough chap but very easily riled when trying to conduct a publicity war in a second language

i dislike the way his teams play football but i dont think his extreme micromanagement and weird pettiness are enough to hate him

diouf est le papa du foot galsen merde lè haters (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 7 September 2011 17:18 (fourteen years ago)

lawrenson is a catty lil bitch

what can i say, one thing i demand is expansiveness

hipstery nayme (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 September 2011 17:22 (fourteen years ago)

lawrenson has a damp and manky teatowel where his brain should be

hipstery nayme (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 September 2011 17:24 (fourteen years ago)

"Why can’t the government just say ‘right, here are the facts, here are all the papers,’ and then just let the people make their minds up? Maybe there are lots of people to blame, maybe there are Liverpool supporters to blame, Stephen, and if there are, well, they have to deal with those consequences, but we just basically want to know the truth.”

what lawrenson actually said fyi.

can't believe number none posted that blackburn bullshit, that's a fergie and allardyce slur, not a rafa one. what a total load of shit that was!

LocalGarda, Wednesday, 7 September 2011 18:34 (fourteen years ago)

I saw that but assumed he was playin' and fishing for another "ARGH" response from me!

Chris, Wednesday, 7 September 2011 18:46 (fourteen years ago)

yeah pretty much

Number None, Wednesday, 7 September 2011 18:48 (fourteen years ago)

Anyway let's be honest, you've probably got to be some degree of a cunt to make it as a top manager. I bet Guardiola is really narky in the mornings or something

In Italy

With Sampdoria, he formed a dynamic strike partnership with Gianluca Vialli, and helped the club to its only league title in 1991, four Coppa Italias (1985, 1988, 1989 and 1994) and a Cup Winners' Cup in 1990. He also appeared in the final of the 1991–1992 European Cup against Barcelona.

With Lazio he won his second scudetto (2000) and Cup Winners' Cup titles (1999) as well as two more Coppa Italias (1998 and 2000). In the 1999–2000 season, Lazio won the Scudetto and Coppa Italia, but Mancini failed to score in 20 matches and he announced his playing retirement. He joined Lazio’s coaching staff as Sven-Goran Eriksson’s number two.

Leicester City

Joining Leicester City in January 2001,[13] Mancini made his Premier League debut against Arsenal at the age of 36, but failed to complete 90 minutes in his five appearances for the club.[14] In early February, he was given leave of absence, citing personal reasons. However, he telephoned the club on 14 February, and informed them he would not be returning to England (he had been offered the manager's job at Fiorentina).[15] Despite this, he cites his time at Leicester as the period during which he fell in love with the English game, and which later prompted him to accept the job at Manchester City.[16]

i like how his 541 serie a appearances get as much attention as his 4 games for leicester

diouf est le papa du foot galsen merde lè haters (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 7 September 2011 19:40 (fourteen years ago)

Would you perhaps have preferred 433 or 442 appearances in Italy? I'm not sure if 352 appearances is even legal in calcio.

I like wasting my emotions on the interwebs (Michael White), Wednesday, 7 September 2011 19:58 (fourteen years ago)

his serie a games all took place in another country tbf

Leicester: Royce, Rowett, Elliott, Taggart, Impey, Jones, Izzet, Robbie Savage, Davidson, Sturridge, Mancini.
Subs: Gilchrist, Guppy, Gunnlaugsson, Akinbiyi, Price.

magnificent

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/1126693.stm

Leicester's two new forward signings, Roberto Mancini and Dean Sturridge, both started.

Mancini could have scored after just nine minutes only for Sturridge to take a cross off the Italian's head as he was poised to strike.

It was no surprise when Mancini, making his first start for eight months, was replaced by Ade Akinbiyi midway through the second half.

hipstery nayme (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 September 2011 20:14 (fourteen years ago)

Impey, Guppy, Izzet, Akinbiyi - the sort of semi-forgotten names that stir inexplicable nostalgia for failed Fantasy League campaigns long past.

matt elliott to liverpool

LocalGarda, Wednesday, 7 September 2011 22:46 (fourteen years ago)

Guppy could put a great cross in - mostly underused. Part of our triple swoop for him, John Hartson and um, Momo Sylla iirc.

why does Savage get his full name?

the art of posting sideways (onimo), Thursday, 8 September 2011 11:55 (fourteen years ago)

Obviously there was a Roberto Savage in the Leicester squad at the same time. Robbie Mancini had just been sold to Wycombe Wanderers.

Euripides Trousers (Tom D.), Thursday, 8 September 2011 12:01 (fourteen years ago)

bloody painful looking at that leicester team of lower league rough diamonds and knowing qpr turned their noses up at it for mark hateley and a load of other big money rejects managed by stewart fucking houston.

curbs managing keller, elliott, taggart, lennon, alex rae, andy roberts, andy booth, mendonca... we'd never have fallen so low.

course it's all changed now hasnt it. eek.

A brief spell at Nottingham Forest followed, where he scored the opening goal of the game on his debut against Walsall to end Forest's dreadful goal drought. In another game, whilst warming up on the touchline, Forest fans started singing "Andy Impey's got no neck!" He's just a head on some shoulders!" Impey subsequently turned round and revealed his neck to the fans, starting an onslaught of songs about the neckless wonder. These 2 events mean he will go down in Forest folklore forever.
