I can blot that off with a paper towel, no?

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:18 (twenty years ago)

I've smooched Jesse! This is a moment burned into the memory of everyone present except for me, because I was fucking drunk. At, like, 4 in the afternoon.

Paunchy Stratego (kenan), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:19 (twenty years ago)

I am a failure of a human being.

Jesse, on the other hand, is really funny.

Paunchy Stratego (kenan), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:19 (twenty years ago)

Yes, it was mentioned.

xpost -- the smooch, not the failure.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:20 (twenty years ago)

Really? Is this, like, Chicago ILE legend now?

Paunchy Stratego (kenan), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:21 (twenty years ago)

You're famous.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:23 (twenty years ago)

Yay!

All I ask is you attention. Good or bad, doesn't matter.

Paunchy Stratego (kenan), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:23 (twenty years ago)

Where's Jesse?

Paunchy Stratego (kenan), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:24 (twenty years ago)

Earning his beads.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:26 (twenty years ago)

PANTS

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:26 (twenty years ago)

Hi Jordan. Who's on AIM? I should of course be sleeping, but as per usual, I am not.

Paunchy Stratego (kenan), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:29 (twenty years ago)

STORY OF MY LIFE.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:29 (twenty years ago)

I'm kenanhebert, BTW.

Paunchy Stratego (kenan), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:30 (twenty years ago)

I'm trying to decide whether I'm going to call into work tomorrow.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:35 (twenty years ago)

DO IT!

Paunchy Stratego (kenan), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:36 (twenty years ago)

Okay.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:38 (twenty years ago)

Let's get margaritas!

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:38 (twenty years ago)

Where's Jesse?

-- Paunchy Stratego (fluxion2...), March 1st, 2006.

Earning his beads.

-- Casuistry (chri...), March 1st, 2006.

I'M HERE!!!

Jesse, BTW, you are a treasure. You have to stay on this board, for all of our sakes.

-- Paunchy Stratego (fluxion2...), March 1st, 2006.

jesseOooooo, Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:42 (twenty years ago)

I want a fucking margarita!

jesseOooo, Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:42 (twenty years ago)

What is "xpost?" ??????????????????????????????????????????

jesseOooo, Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:43 (twenty years ago)

Where are the women?

Eazy (Eazy), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:45 (twenty years ago)

Wow, I've made a mess of things. 2 posts up (with all the italics) I was trying to write something about being overwhelmed by all the male attention I was getting on here, but I fubared it and got distracted by margaritas on preview.

jesseOooo, Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:46 (twenty years ago)

ILX, where the men are men and so are the women.

jesseOooo, Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:47 (twenty years ago)

Takes one to know one.

jesseOooo, Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:48 (twenty years ago)

I'm going to bed. I don't recommend inviting me to stay on any boards again. EVERYONE, TO FRM!!!

jesseOooo, Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:48 (twenty years ago)

We're on AIM now, Jesse.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:49 (twenty years ago)

Talking about YOU.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:49 (twenty years ago)

What did you say about me? I went to bed had some pretty amazing sleep (I took an abs class and treadmill training class last night taught by this dislocated New Orleansean (?) who takes out her feelings of alienation on her pupils by snapping her fingers and pushing us to the point of puking.)

(Most of this post is in parentheses.)

jesseOooo, Wednesday, 1 March 2006 14:51 (twenty years ago)

Good morning, everyone.
Good morning, Sweet Tater.

It is such a sleepy day! I just organized my desk drawer! I'm trying to wake myself up with exclamation marks but it isn't working!

Sarah Madkitten McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 14:56 (twenty years ago)

i usually just lurk, but, i live in chicago so i feel like i have to support this thread. nuggets.

bobpeck (bobpeck), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:01 (twenty years ago)

We said nothing about you that you haven't heard before, Jesse.

Good morning, Sarah, and everyone. It's cold this morning, and I did not get quite enough sleep. But I'm going to put a positive spin on things.

Oh, and then I had a dream where I won $700,000,000 in a lottery, but I had bought the ticket with two other people, and then for some reason I had to split my third with two further people, so I only got 1/9 of my lottery win, and then I was sad about this. Which, now that I can do the math, still isn't so bad, but I got really depressed about it in the dream, and debated running off with the money and not telling the other people about it. Since I had the ticket. But then I decided I was just not that sort of person.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:17 (twenty years ago)

Good morning. I just took the morning off, so it is a good morning. I made Maddie some sour cream waffles with candles in them, which is the closest she'll get to a birthday cake from me. I'm going to go back to bed soon.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:21 (twenty years ago)

Mornin' everyone. Is it really supposed to be warm today? I hope so. I wore a dress. A dress! A dress with a sweater over it. And a coat.

Happy birthday Maddie!

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:24 (twenty years ago)

44 and showers, says my Firefox dongle.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:26 (twenty years ago)

I need to know what you said so I can log it in my journal.

NEWS YOU CAN USE:

Subject: New way to ride the El to avoid the weather.

If you look down the tracks and your train is nowhere in sight and a train going in the opposite direction is coming along, hop on that train and ride it a few stops in the wrong direction. It is best to get on the very front car so that you can keep an eye out for the train you want to be on.

This is one of my favorite discoveries-- you wait exactly the same amount of time as you would on the platform, but you avoid the elements and the feeling of waiting.

jesseOooo, Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:27 (twenty years ago)

Hey Chris, I made key lime pie AND scones last night. I felt very kitchen-efficient. Have you been to the Spice House since you've been here?

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:27 (twenty years ago)

Jesse, I used to do that all the time when I took the El to work from Argyle - there's also the bonus of the greater chance of getting one of those individual seats during rush hour.

Eazy (Eazy), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:51 (twenty years ago)

Train hopping makes me think of Easy, no doubt. Mornin' all!

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:54 (twenty years ago)

I am completely fucking frantic today with roommate and moving stuff -- I think no one except me gives a shit whether anything gets done or gets done with any degree of competence...so all the work falls into MY lap.

I'm sorry that sounds awfully shrill -- I try to restrict my bitching to the extremely frivolous to blunt the edge but today is not that day when I can keep my shit together.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:56 (twenty years ago)

laurel! i wish i lived in new york right now . . . i could give you sparkles or help you in some manner for real & stuff. i'm so sorry. i know what those days feel like all too well.

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:57 (twenty years ago)

Did you save some key lime pie for me? Where is this Spice House?

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 15:58 (twenty years ago)

There's an entire pie left! There are two Spice Houses, one on Wells (closer to the action) and one in Evanston (in the northern burbs.) I don't know how much more time you have here, but you MUST GO. They have freshly ground spices of ALL varieties. See: thespicehouse.com for more deets. It's world-class, I think.

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 16:00 (twenty years ago)

Thank you, Kelz! Some day I will visit Chicago....

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 16:00 (twenty years ago)

Get off at the Sedgwick brown line stop and walk EAST on North Ave, then turn RIGHT at Wells - it's about a block down. I think those are accurate directions. Is there a better way to get there?

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 16:01 (twenty years ago)

Don't worry Laurel, someday all of the incompetent people will smell like dog shit and we can evade them simply and efficiently using only our olfactory senses.

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 16:02 (twenty years ago)

B. is very excited about this news so we will be going. Also there will be a midnight pie raid, key lime pie is one of my favorites.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 16:03 (twenty years ago)

Laurel-I care! And most of my days here are like that, which is why I am leaving. I just got an e-mail from a friend who just started a new job in Philly saying that she spilled hot & sour soup in her new company laptop, so that makes me feel a bit better about my day.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 16:03 (twenty years ago)

xpost - Oh good! I want to hear about all of the stuff you bought. I recommend everything they have there, but don't leave without some cinnamon. Best part about the Spice House: not expensive. Also, taste the cacao nibs. They're great and your vanilla ice cream will thank you.

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 16:07 (twenty years ago)

There's a cool fish store near the Spice House on Wells, too. Like, Finding Nemo fish.

Eazy (Eazy), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 16:08 (twenty years ago)

which cinnamon do you recommend?

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 16:08 (twenty years ago)
