It looks like a Mosque/temple on the left, and a Coptic church to the right, maybe? Flat, dry, limited foliage and reddish soil. Rectilinear stone building construction (& palm tree) make me think it's somewhere hot that industrialized in the '50s-'70s. Middle East or Northern Africa, maybe?
