They could've sold him way earlier in the summer and found a replacement, Bolton seem to have some pretty good talent scouts working for them.

Surely a successful season for Everton is staying up? Not even joking.

Chris, Thursday, 1 September 2011 11:17 (fourteen years ago)

I'm excited to see Ruiz play for fulham. heard good things. Anyone seen him play much?

spellcheck is really advanced these days (cajunsunday), Thursday, 1 September 2011 11:26 (fourteen years ago)

If LBI is about today he can give you the run down on Ruiz. I was under the impression he was a left winger/forward but I may be wrong.

pandemic, Thursday, 1 September 2011 11:28 (fourteen years ago)

think fulham added the right amont of attacking flair- agree that anything you get out of aj at this stage is a bonus

Everton are winding down to a shell company holding only two assets, epl position and the brand name. I don't know if there's even a buyer out there, but kenwright doesn't seem to have any plans beyond stripping the football side to pay for ?????

Moyes and youth will keep them up, probably perpetually.

Wesley admitting he though he would sign for Utd :(

Number None, Thursday, 1 September 2011 11:37 (fourteen years ago)

I was never really clear if Villa had put in any kind of sell-on clause when they sold Cahill to Bolton for not much; it might have a bearing on Bolton looking at Derisory Offers and thinking screw it, we'll just keep him

Coyle seemed totally at peace with the idea that they would sell Cahill when the time came, I don't know why they're bothering to be so stubborn about it

MPx4A, Thursday, 1 September 2011 11:38 (fourteen years ago)

bolton turning down 15m for cahill in last year vs spurs turning down 40m for modric with 4 years contract

I am around, and pandemic is right. Seen him play for Twente two seasons. He was bought when Schteve Mclaren was manager and it became his breakthrough season, winning the league with Twente and becoming top-scorer with 24 goals. Second year he had some injures and didn't play a lot.
He's an allround attacker but plays best as a right-winger. He loves cutting through to the penalty box to score beautiful goals (his goals/beautiful goals ratio is high). Can't really name any weaknesses.

What else? Oh, his nickname is "La Comadreja", the weasel. And even though his last name is Ruiz, he wants to play with "Bryan" on his shirt, because Ruiz is his father's name, and his father bailed on his family when he was a toddler.

Nice. Very nice.

spellcheck is really advanced these days (cajunsunday), Thursday, 1 September 2011 11:56 (fourteen years ago)

if jol weren't manager fulham prob looking good for top eight tbh.

Squad still quite small, though.

even blue cows get the girls (darraghmac), Thursday, 1 September 2011 11:56 (fourteen years ago)

yeah

i thought people liked jol - or is it that he's a likeable loser

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Thursday, 1 September 2011 11:57 (fourteen years ago)

.......

even blue cows get the girls (darraghmac), Thursday, 1 September 2011 12:07 (fourteen years ago)

genuinely did not anticipate a delay in answering that tbh

Tracer,

Martin Jol is the devil. He is the devil. He is a terrible man for the tactical naivety and unchanged unmotivated team selection. He wasted the best three years of my life the bastard and took the goid china when he left. He talked about me behind my back and Irene from the office swears he made a move on her one christmas. He drowns puppies, votes conservative and hates freedom.

He is the devil.

even blue cows get the girls (darraghmac), Thursday, 1 September 2011 12:15 (fourteen years ago)

Pretty surprised no one took Macheda or Diouf on loan from Utd. Thought one of Fergie's acolytes would 'ave 'ad a go.

Number None, Thursday, 1 September 2011 12:26 (fourteen years ago)

Macheda was offered to Newcastlol but something went tits up with the deal late on.

Frimpong iddle I po (onimo), Thursday, 1 September 2011 12:54 (fourteen years ago)

even blue cows get the girls (darraghmac), Thursday, 1 September 2011 13:30 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah probably, but it's still surprising.

Number None, Thursday, 1 September 2011 13:31 (fourteen years ago)

didn't he score a goal once, though?

Gary Numan, or Gary Fletcher (ken c), Thursday, 1 September 2011 14:08 (fourteen years ago)

Heady days. Watched that game in a pub in Leeds full of glowering Yorkshiremen, was difficult to keep my celebrations to a minimum.

Number None, Thursday, 1 September 2011 14:12 (fourteen years ago)

Excited by Bryan! Jol will hopefully make Fulham an attacking force, even if deems hates him.

Are Chelsea just going to play a messy diamond with Ramires and Bos patrolling up the right?

Craig Bellamy has said that he could not resist the opportunity to sign for boyhood hero Kenny Dalglish.

"For me, the players they've signed this summer, there has been a lot of British which takes me back to when I started watching Liverpool. It looks so familiar to me and to be part of it is such a huge honour."

r|t|c, Thursday, 1 September 2011 14:32 (fourteen years ago)

a lot of british

r|t|c, Thursday, 1 September 2011 14:32 (fourteen years ago)

i don't hate jol, my therapist thinks part of me still loves him.

But i can never give him control over me again, i know that now.

even blue cows get the girls (darraghmac), Thursday, 1 September 2011 14:33 (fourteen years ago)

michael cox wrote a thing claiming that AVB was glad to get rid of Meireles at Porto.
also didn't even notice that everton signed the excellently named Denis Stracqualursi, 13 letters to add to Bilyaletdinov, which is also 13.
what's the longest name in the prem?

For some reason I always think of him as Jan Vennegoor of Heffelump.

In March 2006 he was diagnosed with shaving rash, putting an end to his season. The timing was especially unfortunate for Parker, who had been playing well for Newcastle, as it ended any hopes he may have had of forcing his way into James Dixon's love-den.

even blue cows get the girls (darraghmac), Thursday, 1 September 2011 16:15 (fourteen years ago)

Scott Parker was found to be the second best dars player in the country for December 2006 by Sky Sports and Opta Index. He led Newcastle on their way to UEFA Intertoto Cup victory and was presented with the Intertoto Cup plaque in March 2007 before the UEFA Cup first leg tie with AZ, wjich Newcastle won with a thrilling three dart finish.

iirc, he went to Rapid Vienna, but no idea how that went or whether he's still there (in the spirit of not just googling stuff).
