SWANSEA star Alan Tate has broken his leg —in a GOLF BUGGY accident.

Tate was a passenger in the cart which crashed in a south Wales course this afternoon.

Tate was a passenger in a golf buggy at Gower Golf Club near Swansea this afternoon when the buggy ''lost control'', Swansea said. No other players were involved in the incident.

The 28-year-old former Manchester United trainee had his leg trapped between the buggy and a tree, manager Brendan Rodgers said.

Tate, described as a ''very good golfer'' by Rodgers, was diagnosed with a broken tibia of his left leg after being taken to Morriston Hospital by ambulance.

Upt0eleven, Sunday, 28 August 2011 21:34 (fourteen years ago)

You need to let it out (itt) before you can let it go.

boxall, Sunday, 28 August 2011 21:40 (fourteen years ago)

My uncle is obliging me to, tbh.

We had a good 15 minute spell at the start of the second half but there wasn't really room for that on motd I suppose.

Upt0eleven, Sunday, 28 August 2011 21:45 (fourteen years ago)

in between the goals i thought spurs looked ok.

Friedel looks very good imo.

Even watching the highlights I want to kill Crouch right now.

Matt DC, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:06 (fourteen years ago)

mancini very right to focus on the goal conceded imo, they'll make hay while the sun shines but there's still a shoddyness there to be exposed somewhere down the line

r|t|c, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:11 (fourteen years ago)

You could do a full goal of the month selection from the Utd and City games alone

Number None, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:13 (fourteen years ago)

yeah my brother wanted to know were there any good utd goals and i was just '.......'

toure returning should offer man city a little of the defensive solidity they've been lacking in recent months, no? unless he's been spending this time fattening up for winter.

Merdeyeux, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:18 (fourteen years ago)

Kolo is another Ramadan observant iirc, nakhchivan said so anyway

boxall, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:19 (fourteen years ago)

don't know that they're lacking it, tbh, don't know that touré is better than in-form lescott

r|t|c, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:22 (fourteen years ago)

sorry to bring it up again but was there any mention of armand traore walking off the pitch smiling and joking with the utd lads? couldn't believe it when i saw that.

r|t|c, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:23 (fourteen years ago)

only thing i remember traore doing all match was giving young his assist, so ey makes sense.

Merdeyeux, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:24 (fourteen years ago)

pardew seems to be morphing into a little old lady

Is it true Tony Cascarino used the phrase "Traore is having a Holocaust" today?

Matt DC, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:27 (fourteen years ago)

r|t|c, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:28 (fourteen years ago)

This is how Liverpool started last season, after 3-6-9-12 matches: 13th, 16th, 18th, 9th.

Arsenal 17th, ?, ?, ? any guesses.

boxall, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:34 (fourteen years ago)

chill out, they'll finish 5th like they were always going to

r|t|c, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:36 (fourteen years ago)

Got to appreciate if not enjoy the journey as well as the destination, Ismael made a good case for that last season I thought.

boxall, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:38 (fourteen years ago)

Would still take any bets on them finishing outside the top four

Upt0eleven, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:42 (fourteen years ago)

think martinez' shirt tonite might be worse than any of shearer's

r|t|c, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:43 (fourteen years ago)

hahaha please let colin's reaction to this convo end up on youtube

r|t|c, Sunday, 28 August 2011 22:47 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah, that little cut to him realising there was no way into the conversation for him... kinda great but kinda aww at the same time. Was nice watching Hansen and Dixon clearly really getting into talking to Martinez, though - thought he acquitted himself really well. Aside from the shirt.

William Bloody Swygart, Sunday, 28 August 2011 23:01 (fourteen years ago)

modric asked to be dropped before the match?

Good reason to dock him a month's wages or something, surely?

lolled @ 'timeboom' (darraghmac), Sunday, 28 August 2011 23:02 (fourteen years ago)

He'll be raring to go come October.

boxall, Sunday, 28 August 2011 23:05 (fourteen years ago)

Great spot from Hansen pointing out Rosicky just walking away and not looking behind him to see where Rooney's free kick ended up.

Chris, Sunday, 28 August 2011 23:31 (fourteen years ago)

rosicky knew it was in, spotted that at the time

lolled @ 'timeboom' (darraghmac), Sunday, 28 August 2011 23:33 (fourteen years ago)

can ahoyhoy tell me the one about djourou being a top defender again though? pretty please?

I don't usually take schadenfreude from other team's losses, but I loved the clips of Arsenal fans with their heads in their hands. I rather like Arsenal, but most "ordinary" teams get spanked every so often; it's only big club fans for whom a severe hiding is a very infrequent experience. It does them good to be reminded of what most football supporters get to feel like on a regular basis.

(My pet hate in football is Spurs fans complaining about how terribly underequipped their team - what with all its multimillion pound internationals and its regular European qualification- is, because every Spurs fan I ever meet uses that as their opening line in football talk. Yes, you're not Man City or Man United, but if you want to watch an underequipped team, try one of the 85 or so that are worse than you.)

tbf

Most of our multimillion pound internationals are shite, hence 'underequipped'

lolled @ 'timeboom' (darraghmac), Monday, 29 August 2011 10:51 (fourteen years ago)

But that's the thing - they're not shite. They're actually really good, and they beat most of the teams they play against, and they often play really good football. But there are a handful of Premier League teams with better players, that's all.

Trudi Styler, the Creator (ithappens), Monday, 29 August 2011 10:57 (fourteen years ago)

it is as anathema to football as it is in life to expect total perspective on any given situation iirc
