not lazy but clowning (Suedey 2), Sunday, 28 August 2011 16:54 (fourteen years ago)

So that last goal takes us above City despite their five-goal victory? Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.

Manchester United 8 (EIGHT) Arsenal 2 (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 28 August 2011 16:55 (fourteen years ago)

You only typed that out 7 (SEVEN) times.

boxall, Sunday, 28 August 2011 16:56 (fourteen years ago)

City won by 4 not 5

pandemic, Sunday, 28 August 2011 16:56 (fourteen years ago)

Part of me hopes Utd & City keep at this one-upmanship all season.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 28 August 2011 16:57 (fourteen years ago)

What a pile of shit. Looking fwd to wenger saying arsenal played brilliantly.

LocalGarda, Sunday, 28 August 2011 16:58 (fourteen years ago)

This had got me really looking forward to being on the tube for an hour

pandemic, Sunday, 28 August 2011 17:00 (fourteen years ago)

What's this Championship 2 that Paul Merson speaks of? His analysis is going to be fun.

Chris, Sunday, 28 August 2011 17:01 (fourteen years ago)

Still trying to process this

Number None, Sunday, 28 August 2011 17:02 (fourteen years ago)

So... Yeah. That was fun.

There are no emoticons for how I am feeling.

@Zonal_Marking Zonal Marking
Good news Arsenal fans, Laurent Koscienly had a 100% pass completion rate

I can work with this.

apparently the first time they've scored two at OT in the PL era.

pandemic, Sunday, 28 August 2011 17:21 (fourteen years ago)

Do actually feel like that has to be the end of Wenger's dream project, and he really has to try something different now

If he stubbornly refuses Rafa in? I can't think of anyone else. And Liverpool were really good at defending for a while...

That Wenger interview was quite painful to watch

Manchester United 8 (EIGHT) Arsenal 2 (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 28 August 2011 17:29 (fourteen years ago)

I've been on a train most of today and missed everything. Was going to avoid MOTD2 after the Spurs game but it's a must-watch now.

Don't want to write Wolves off too early but... two horse race yeah?

depends if Villas Boas can get Chelsea to click in the next month I think

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 28 August 2011 17:38 (fourteen years ago)

There's also Liverpool, but you're talking about the race for 2nd I take it?

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 28 August 2011 17:39 (fourteen years ago)

What else can go wrong for Arsene in the next sixty minutes?

North london managers got what was coming to them today. What were they playing at- arsene over the past few weeks, Harry just today.

@henrywinter Henry Winter
At the end, Rosicky Arshavin Chamakh headed straight down tunnel. Van Persie shouted at them to come back & salute #afc fans. Chaos

Number None, Sunday, 28 August 2011 18:46 (fourteen years ago)

well, that was a good day spend 7 hours of in the pub.

nothing to add other than to voice my perturbation that google image search isn't having any of my ardent sudden conviction that tom cleverley is just a shit bobby davro. i know it's still true though.

r|t|c, Sunday, 28 August 2011 19:08 (fourteen years ago)

can ahoyhoy tell me the one about djourou being a top defender again though? pretty please?

r|t|c, Sunday, 28 August 2011 19:09 (fourteen years ago)

can't believe I golfed through all of that

god hates frogbs (cozen), Sunday, 28 August 2011 19:20 (fourteen years ago)

This game was crying out for Andy Gray.

you've got male (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 28 August 2011 19:34 (fourteen years ago)

can you beat arsenal's below-par performance

Richter scale? I hardly even knew 'er! (darraghmac), Sunday, 28 August 2011 19:35 (fourteen years ago)

If any one - just one, not all - of Vermaelen, Sagna, Gibbs had played today, the defence as a whole might have been 25% less horrific, but probably still would have been mauled by 4-5 goals, and that player's reputation would probably never recover, at least until he left the club. Is that a silver lining?

boxall, Sunday, 28 August 2011 19:37 (fourteen years ago)

sadly not darragh, though I'm sure I enjoyed myself a whole lot more than the arsenal XI did today

god hates frogbs (cozen), Sunday, 28 August 2011 19:48 (fourteen years ago)

gibbs? Cmon.

Vermaelen would prob have handled two or three of the goals himself. Vidic's rep survived torres that time.

I like kaboul and dawson, but not as a pair. They're both ok to good as chasers, you'd want a more cerebral type alongside.

swansea's alan tate has broken his leg in what the club has described as a 'bizarre golfing accident'
