No way is Levy stupid enough to give Redknapp free reign over the money surely?

I can see why City might be doing it, even if he isn't a bad influence on the squad. He'd cost them the thick end of £30m in wages over the next three years. They can't sell him as nobody is going to match those wages.

goldie hawn (ShariVari), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:25 (fourteen years ago)

puts you in top 4 contention i agree. still something too feckless there for a title tilt though, and while all the midfield are good players there's a lack of leadership oomph imo. you'll be great when you're good, bad when you're bad, and nothing yet will change the inevitability of either.

r|t|c, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:25 (fourteen years ago)

Don't think it makes much sense from City's pov to loan him to a rival. Especially one who can't pay his full wages. I mean economically it wd make sense to get any of his wages off the bill you can at every club in England except City. What's the money matter to them? Unless they don't consider Spurs rivals of course.

r|t|c, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:27 (fourteen years ago)

10/11 of a dead jesus (darraghmac), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:28 (fourteen years ago)

Are City out to specifically kill off Arsenal for some reason? Like an Etihad/Emirates feud or something?

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:32 (fourteen years ago)

Doyle makes himself a sitter then misses it :(

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:35 (fourteen years ago)

City are arrogant enough to think that scrabbling round for fourth place is beneath them now, and they might be right.

tell a lie, 2nd goal was Jarv

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:53 (fourteen years ago)

2-0 a tad harsh on Fulham at half-time but we were starting to exert a bit of pressure, getting men into the box is nice too. long way to go yet - our defence ain't watertight by any means and Mick will have them all lined up on the goal line for the 2nd half

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:57 (fourteen years ago)

shit, Norwich a goal up at the moment too :)

hoping some grub street reject from the beeb's football pool points out we're top of the table at the mo and how grateful we shd be

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:08 (fourteen years ago)

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:18 (fourteen years ago)

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:26 (fourteen years ago)

OptaJoe on Twitter: "53.3% - For the first time ever in the PL (116 games) Stoke have recorded more than 50% possession in a single match. Patience."

That's rather amazing. As much as i dislike Stoke, i'm always pleased when Kenwyne scores.

goldie hawn (ShariVari), Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:36 (fourteen years ago)

weren't they playing agaonst 10 men?

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:59 (fourteen years ago)

wolves fans will be delighted that their plucky journeymen continue to stink up the top of the table, every point will count come the relegation battle.

Merdeyeux, Sunday, 21 August 2011 15:02 (fourteen years ago)

i was just gonna do a "plucky underdogs" update on Facebook. gosh, if only we cd manage to snatch the odd point against the likes of Man U, Chelsea or Liverpool. still, just a crazy dream i guess.

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 15:03 (fourteen years ago)

If Wilkins had said 'swag' it would have made my year!

pandemic, Sunday, 21 August 2011 15:58 (fourteen years ago)

probably thinking of something somewhere in between 'swag' and 'vajazzle'.

Merdeyeux, Sunday, 21 August 2011 16:03 (fourteen years ago)

best game i've seen Dseko have for City

Number None, Sunday, 21 August 2011 16:07 (fourteen years ago)

He was good against Swansea as well. If City actually go for it, at least at home, against the 'big' teams as well it'll be fun to watch.

pandemic, Sunday, 21 August 2011 16:08 (fourteen years ago)

typical City, all the Latin flair in the world but will have to learn how to grind out a result even if it's harsh on the eyes.

boxall, Sunday, 21 August 2011 16:25 (fourteen years ago)
