Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 10:53 (fourteen years ago)

'Manager out' form at any other club imo

It's basically there at Arsenal too, just everyone's being polite about it. The headlines just now are 'I Won't Walk Away', which differs only in making it his own decision. Also the general mockery/questioning of his entire approach.

I wish he'd just sign Benzema, Samba and Parker, and get that wolf away from the door. We need him.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 21 August 2011 11:02 (fourteen years ago)

I forgot about Charlie Adam's shots form the halfway line. The first one, ok fair play, but straight from kick off when Scezney was actually on his line? Cut out the billy big bollocks shit man.

Chris, Sunday, 21 August 2011 11:48 (fourteen years ago)

agreed.

LocalGarda, Sunday, 21 August 2011 12:05 (fourteen years ago)

Diarra and Adebayor to Spurs being reported as done deals

Number None, Sunday, 21 August 2011 12:55 (fourteen years ago)

Sweeeet. If those really do go through, I reckon we genuinely have a squad capable of challenging for the title. We probably don't have a manager capable of doing so, but that's for another day.

Matt DC, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:08 (fourteen years ago)

Since we've already proven that he doesn't work in the Premiership, presumably 'arry is getting Lassana in to 'ave a go at the Europa?

James Mitchell, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:12 (fourteen years ago)

not at gk nor cb tbh, but from there up we'd be top 4 nine times out of ten on current squad yeah

10/11 of a dead jesus (darraghmac), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:13 (fourteen years ago)

Adebayor on loan? Free transfer? Can't see how Spurs can afford his wages tbh

pandemic, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:15 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah maybe, although Gallas and Dawson together should be good enough to get most of the way there. Keeper, obviously a problem - three flawed goalkeepers. Challenging for the title is different to actually winning it, and I don't think Redknapp is good enough to even get us that far, but top four feels... not unrealistic suddenly.

Matt DC, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:17 (fourteen years ago)

Dunno?

Spurs are set to complete the signing of Lassana Diarra from Real Madrid while Emmanuel Adebayor should complete his loan move from Manchester City.
Wages have proved to be a stumbling block with Adebayor reportedly on £170,000 per week while Diarra takes home £85,000 after tax in Spain.
But Spurs could resolve the dispute by paying the players a fee up front or even paying the clubs an added fee that can be used to subsidise their salary.

Number None, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:17 (fourteen years ago)

not paying all of them iirc,

10/11 of a dead jesus (darraghmac), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:18 (fourteen years ago)

It does appear that Man City are just giving him away - he must be such a squad-wrecking cunt.

Matt DC, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:19 (fourteen years ago)

Luckily Diarra is renowned for his loyalty and team spirit

Number None, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:20 (fourteen years ago)

yeah i have my concerns but tbh we need a bite of aggressive ambition too imo, dunno if these guys can bring that

10/11 of a dead jesus (darraghmac), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:22 (fourteen years ago)

Maybe Redknapp is working on the finer points of the monetary side of the transfers with his good friends Milan Mandaric and Peter Storrie? They might have spending some extended time together in the near future iirc.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:23 (fourteen years ago)

*might be*

James Mitchell, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:23 (fourteen years ago)

No way is Levy stupid enough to give Redknapp free reign over the money surely?

LocalGarda, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:24 (fourteen years ago)

I can see why City might be doing it, even if he isn't a bad influence on the squad. He'd cost them the thick end of £30m in wages over the next three years. They can't sell him as nobody is going to match those wages.

goldie hawn (ShariVari), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:25 (fourteen years ago)

puts you in top 4 contention i agree. still something too feckless there for a title tilt though, and while all the midfield are good players there's a lack of leadership oomph imo. you'll be great when you're good, bad when you're bad, and nothing yet will change the inevitability of either.

r|t|c, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:25 (fourteen years ago)

Don't think it makes much sense from City's pov to loan him to a rival. Especially one who can't pay his full wages. I mean economically it wd make sense to get any of his wages off the bill you can at every club in England except City. What's the money matter to them? Unless they don't consider Spurs rivals of course.

pandemic, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:26 (fourteen years ago)

parker looking p shit for west ham today btw

r|t|c, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:27 (fourteen years ago)

we are not rivals to city tbf

10/11 of a dead jesus (darraghmac), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:28 (fourteen years ago)

Are City out to specifically kill off Arsenal for some reason? Like an Etihad/Emirates feud or something?

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:32 (fourteen years ago)

Doyle makes himself a sitter then misses it :(

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:35 (fourteen years ago)

City are arrogant enough to think that scrabbling round for fourth place is beneath them now, and they might be right.

Matt DC, Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:45 (fourteen years ago)

DOYLAAAAAAH

tell a lie, 2nd goal was Jarv

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:53 (fourteen years ago)

2-0 a tad harsh on Fulham at half-time but we were starting to exert a bit of pressure, getting men into the box is nice too. long way to go yet - our defence ain't watertight by any means and Mick will have them all lined up on the goal line for the 2nd half

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:57 (fourteen years ago)

shit, Norwich a goal up at the moment too :)

hoping some grub street reject from the beeb's football pool points out we're top of the table at the mo and how grateful we shd be

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 13:59 (fourteen years ago)

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:07 (fourteen years ago)

Sidwell coming on for Fulham. oh good, i hope he doesn't get hurt.

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:08 (fourteen years ago)

if Jarv had a left foot he'd be

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:18 (fourteen years ago)

right, h8 Stoke now

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:26 (fourteen years ago)

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:28 (fourteen years ago)

Hail the hungry Wolves!

really bossing this game at the moment touch wood

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:33 (fourteen years ago)

OptaJoe on Twitter: "53.3% - For the first time ever in the PL (116 games) Stoke have recorded more than 50% possession in a single match. Patience."

That's rather amazing. As much as i dislike Stoke, i'm always pleased when Kenwyne scores.

goldie hawn (ShariVari), Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:36 (fourteen years ago)

weren't they playing agaonst 10 men?

Countdown to Alma Cogan (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 21 August 2011 14:59 (fourteen years ago)

wolves fans will be delighted that their plucky journeymen continue to stink up the top of the table, every point will count come the relegation battle.

Merdeyeux, Sunday, 21 August 2011 15:02 (fourteen years ago)

i was just gonna do a "plucky underdogs" update on Facebook. gosh, if only we cd manage to snatch the odd point against the likes of Man U, Chelsea or Liverpool. still, just a crazy dream i guess.
