Very sensible for winter walking! I'm trying to find boots I love, too, and have only come up with these:

There was an incredibly hot woman at the place I got lunch today wearing similar boots. I don't know how comfortable it was for her but it looked fucking awesome.
― dan m, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:15 (eighteen years ago)
Also what I really want is these, but they're pull-on only and I will never get my ankles into them if past experience can be trusted: http://www.fryeboots.com/subpages/images/77186BAR.jpg
― Laurel, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:16 (eighteen years ago)
I love patent leather ones! I would probably feel claustrophobic in pull-ons.
― KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:18 (eighteen years ago)
The patent ones would go with all your sparkly dresses, Sarah!
― Laurel, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:19 (eighteen years ago)
i don't dig patent leather. it is beautiful, i was just out in the backyard with the doggies and it was great (except for me sitting in the collected rainwater in the lawn chair). if the next door neighbor hadn't let out their dog we'd have stayed out longer but the boys started barking and barking and history says they wouldn't have stopped. i have to write a cover letter for a job at one of the city colleges then i think i'm going to ride my bike. destination.... UNKOWN!
― chicago kevin, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:21 (eighteen years ago)
oooo which city college
― La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:22 (eighteen years ago)
If I were wealthy and a foot and a half or so shorter, I would practice walking in heels at home to wear these: http://www.piperlime.com/Asset_Archive/PLWeb/Assets/Product/538/538939/main/pl538939-00p01v01.jpg
― KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:24 (eighteen years ago)
being 18 in. shorter than you, i guess i could wear those but i already have heeled boots that i never wear. and bunions.
― La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:26 (eighteen years ago)
one at harold washington (the one i hope to get) and one at truman which i'd take as beggars can't be choosers but i'd prefer the one in the loop that's 9 to 5 and doesn't require weekends.
xpost.
― chicago kevin, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:27 (eighteen years ago)
Sarah, I'll show you how to walk in heels.
― Jesse, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:27 (eighteen years ago)
Oh yes, bunions.
I just love vintage looking booties.
Thanks, Jesse, though you might be joking. I keep buying them, but never wear them.
― KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:28 (eighteen years ago)
I can't wait to go play tennis!
those are cute though. i am all about looking for cute + not high heels
low heels
but cute
i got some sort of, i dunno, foldover pixie boots at the andersonville salvation army a while ago that i am looking forward to wearing.
― La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:29 (eighteen years ago)
kind of like these but tan colored http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/pict/280050255208_1.jpg
― La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:30 (eighteen years ago)
Amanda, I can imagine you cuffed pixie boots and I like it!
Bunions aren't a problem I have, but those boots would be no picnic to stand in for a long time, either. I have plenty of heels I love but that are too high to go to shows in, so if that's your goal, well...scale it down, I think.

That's all I know about patent leather.
i have some patent leather beatle-type boots. i love em.
― La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:33 (eighteen years ago)
I was just browsing piperl1me. I decided it blows. Every shoe I'd pull up was only available in 3 or so sizes. "YESs... Let's see.. Ok, would you like a size 4, 6, or 6.5??"
― KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:37 (eighteen years ago)
Are they out of stock ALREADY?? Bummer. 6.5 is way too small for me, even, so that's not even realistic.
― Laurel, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:39 (eighteen years ago)
Oh, that wasn't in reference to a particular shoe.
― KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:40 (eighteen years ago)
who the hell wears size 4
― La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:41 (eighteen years ago)
aside from kylie minogue
and dakota fanning
Your choices for the cutie bootie are 7 or 8.5.
― KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:44 (eighteen years ago)
i have two dogs fighting over lap space. it's very hot property. the gold coast of laps.
― chicago kevin, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:44 (eighteen years ago)
The Gaza Strip, even.
― Laurel, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:46 (eighteen years ago)
there's a dogpile of napping dogs on my lap. i'm stuck on my couch for a while.
― chicago kevin, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:50 (eighteen years ago)

i think i'm teetering on the brink of making some romantic mistakes
― river wolf, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 21:46 (eighteen years ago)
my mom probably wears a size 4. she is tiny.
― river wolf, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 21:47 (eighteen years ago)

Ian Riverwolf-Moraine.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:05 (eighteen years ago)
cut it out you two
enh, this girl is nice enough, but i think she's the sort of person who would never really be able to get along with my friends. she's like, a vegan and a bike activist, and all my friends are layabout smokers and carnivores who own cars.
i like them a lot better.
― river wolf, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:07 (eighteen years ago)
also: interested in THEATER.
ABORT!!!!!!!!!
― river wolf, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:08 (eighteen years ago)
she's like, a vegan and a bike activist
that sounds easy enough to get past. The real question is, does she rock?
― kenan, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:11 (eighteen years ago)
I suddenly have a crush.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:11 (eighteen years ago)
Actually, haha, vegan bike activists who are interested in theatre seem more likely to be smokers than most people.
― jaymc, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:13 (eighteen years ago)
haha! she likes the rock and roll, yes, but she's a bit hand-wavey about it. "big," hammy personality. we went to the Smiths night last night (UH), and she's an excellent dancer.
(it's funny, normally the vegan/bike thing would be bonus! but she's very IN YR FACE about it)
xp you'd think so, right???
― river wolf, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:14 (eighteen years ago)
actually john i think you two would get along well! she's really very nice!
also, from St. Croix USVI originally, wtf who is from there.

hahahahaha mattttt is locked out of the house
― dan m, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:19 (eighteen years ago)
Oh, well... yeah. To each his own, but for me that would not only make dating her impossible, it would make me avoid her altogether. And vice versa, I'm sure.
