okay yeah i mean "dreams" in the sense that you feel like you have to do something important and that something important is usually career orientated.

my only dream is that someone gives me an obscene amount of money so I dont have to do ANYTHING careerish

and, yes, that dream lives on

How the heck is anyone expected to know what the heck they want to do with their lives in their 20s? Honestly! One of the great things about your 30s is that that is when it kind of drops into place and you figure out what you're good at - and decide to just make a "career" doing that rather than that whole thing of Having A Career.

At least, that's what happened to me.

the idea of having a career at all is ridiculous to me

unless youre one of those type A entrepreneur peeps who run around taking over all kinds of industries because that shit looks like some fun

i wish there were more people like sunny in the world

i'm not without ambitions in life, but the idea that i or anyone else is required to validate their existence via a career path needs to go fuck off

seems I'm basically sunny in a lot of ways.

"career" concepts are kind of silly to me, and in the last couple of years I've gotten much more comfortable with the idea that this is it, that I should enjoy what I've got and not keep thinking that someday I'm going to do something awesome and magical and everything will be figured out for me. I'm much more able to enjoy all of the good things that I have going on and not stressing what could have been / what I should have done.

though I still would love someone to drop lottery money on me so I didn't have to do anything at all and therefore could do everything I want.

A career is what happens to make you money while you were making other plans.

I only had a career by accident. I didn't go pursuing it. It just came and found me.

I knew I had a career when I realized I'd been doing the same thing for 12 years, kept progressing, in general enjoyed it and made a lot of money at it.

However, having a career and having your career be your life are two different things.

My career took off just after I hit 30. The past couple of years have been a rollercoaster. And I still have enough spare time to indulge in the other things I achieved after turning 30.

Quite enjoy being in my 30s. All the decent bits of being in my 20s but perhaps not as emotionally intense.

I've heard that from a lot of people. Almost halfway through my 30s and still waiting for that to happen.

There are certain things I'm not feeling so comfortable with these days though. I was invited to go to a hippie-ish club/rave night/thing in London the other day for a younger mate's birthday, but got ill instead and kinda felt relieved I didn't have to go. My 24-y/o hippie raving younger self woulda been all over that shit.

Well, it looks like I'm joining you guys in here for the next 10 years!

Thirties are awesome, but its definitely way more intense than my twenties were. In a good way.

so far my 30s have been about diminishing possibilities and the reality of crushing financial burden and lack of mobility settling in even as i try to ignore it with less and less success. on the plus side i love somebody.
