Twitter C/D

New Twitter's been garbage for me on all browsers in all OSes. Always unacceptably slow, and half the time the page just doesn't appear at all. I presume all the focus is on APIs and mobile apps now.

guys complaining abt new twitter is so 6 months ago or whenever it was that they introduced it

destroy twitter is good and really minimal

tweetdeck is good if you've got a lot of things you want to monitor via hashtags or if you're doing more than one account for some reason

hootsuite is ugly and overrated but fine enough

twitterrific & twirhl are too slow

hoos idk if you're on a mac or not but if you are have you tried the official twitter mac desktop client and if so is it worth anything

you say that like all 32% are having trouble with the new client--that doesn't seem to be the case across the web or even in this thread.

there is some weirdness -- i just uploaded an avatar and now i'm watching as it appears next to some of my old tweets but not others, although it seems to be appearing next to more of them than it was earlier, so

probably a database thing

yeah idk i just tend to use the web interface for most web things -- like, i don't use mail.app, i just log into gmail.com

i really don't see why i should have to mess with a separate twitter client, all i want to do is load a page and see a reverse chronological list of stuff the community cast has said recently.

official twitter for mac is the best, most lightweight dedicated client I think

doesn't have the ~power user features~ of something like tweetdeck but otoh doesn't have the bloat either

ive tried Tweetdeck and Tweetie and neither of them make as much sense as just going to the website to me \o_o/

fyi the official mac app is an updated version of tweetie iirc -- they purchased tweetie a while back

yeah i'm wondering how long til they start integrating tweetdeck functions since they bought them recently

I'd love to know why the site keeps fucking up for me then.

btw the popularity of TweetDeck continues to elude me, being probably the most cluttered Twitter app I've ever used. It's like the Bloomberg of social networking.

If you use m.twitter.com on an iphone you get a banner directing you to the app store. I don't think I've ever seen anyone in the wild (with an iphone) use m.twitter.com

keep in mind how many people use twitter for marketing, and how well-suited to that task tweetdeck is

notice in that admittedly dated table i posted that tweetdeck has, within a tenth of a percent, the highest ratio of tweets to users

i imagine part of td's high ratio of tweets:users comes from the user broadcasting from multiple accounts--i use 4 regularly, for instance.
