How about Andy Schwartz (New York Rocker) and Andy Shernoff (New York rock guy)? I used to get them mixed up all the time.

Yeah, them two too. Doesn't the latter guy, from the Dictators, misspell his name Adny? He was misspelling long before the internet, he was way ahead of his time.

My first search was "Adny Shernoff," just to double-check, and all I got back was "Andy." But I guess we're right.

Just checked the first three albums right off the shelf--Adny on every one. (Underscoring something the aforementioned Frank Kogan pointed out recently: it would have taken me two seconds to reach over to my left and check the albums, but I instinctively checked Google first.)

Also underscores that he is not famous enough/that fact is not important enough to insure that somebody would undo the spell-checkers hypercorrection so it ends up gets drowned out in the ethernet.

You could also probably throw in Ernest Laszlo, a cinematographer who was nominated eight times for an Academy Award through the '60s and '70s (winning for Ship of Fools). Truthfully, I wasn't even aware of him till I started checking into László Kovács earlier.
