I was hoping you'd have one of me with arms in the air on the stage!

damn.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Is Matt a crusty guy? Also, do you even remember arguing with anyone at Ally's party?

They aren't my photos, they are off the NPL yahoo group. I'm just glad there isn't one of me jumping up and down to My Sharona.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, no... Matt is not. But there was another guy who looks like Matt I argued with.

The song 'My Sharona' was the highlight of the night. And maybe my life.

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

ally hasn't had a party, this year.

I wonder why!!

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yes! Sorry... Richard's party!

Bedtime anyway... Catch you lot tomorrow.

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I know who he means. I think it is stretching it to say he is crusty. He's very tall though.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:48 (twenty-one years ago)

See you, Keef!

RJG - are you feeling better yet?

I have 4 tickets for BRWHBTW.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I do feel a little bit better, thank you.

since it only really hurts when I nod, I should be fine, to hang out, with you lot.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Jings, crivvens, help ma boab etc, it's really late and I've got to get up and go and do shopping on my way into work!

See you at the Drum & Monkey, people.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

See you at the Drum & People, monkeys.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:56 (twenty-one years ago)

why aren't we going to the carnarvon? oh, well.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't interlude now, Gillanders.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 21 April 2005 23:17 (twenty-one years ago)

well done.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 22 April 2005 06:27 (twenty-one years ago)

It would break my heart to see the Carnarvon now it has become Oscar Slaters. I'm pretending it never existed. See you in the Drum and Monkey then!

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 22 April 2005 07:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I was surprised to hear from diehard Carnarvon fans (i.e. Gav) that Oscar Slater's is, if anything, an IMPROVEMENT!

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 22 April 2005 08:02 (twenty-one years ago)

But they CHANGED THE NAME to SOMETHING CRAP!

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 22 April 2005 08:36 (twenty-one years ago)

when is the earliest person getting to the drum & the monkey?

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 22 April 2005 08:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I just got a job at marks & sparks.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 22 April 2005 08:45 (twenty-one years ago)

HAHA no way.

Oscar Slater's may be crap but at least it is HISTORICAL.

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 22 April 2005 08:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Well done, Cozen. I got one too, but I chickened out because I would have had to listen to Christmas carols for six weeks. They had a lot of targets and stuff up on the walls backstage. Sales targets, not dartboards. Did you have to go out and accost a member of the public as part of your interview? I didn't like that bit, I felt like a twat.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 22 April 2005 09:02 (twenty-one years ago)

this "oscar slater's" news is disturbing.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 22 April 2005 09:17 (twenty-one years ago)

this "oscar slater's" news is old news. where have you been?

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 22 April 2005 09:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I felt like a twat too, PJ.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 22 April 2005 09:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I've been lots of places.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 22 April 2005 09:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I will recognise ailsa easily, she appears to be my wife.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 22 April 2005 10:08 (twenty-one years ago)

HABEMUS FAPAM

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 22 April 2005 11:40 (twenty-one years ago)

This is an unexpected turn.

I may bring a person, or two, from work, for a bit. Please try not to scare them.

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 22 April 2005 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm already at the drum and monkey. no, i'm not. but nearly. i'm a few doors down the street at easyeverything or easyinternet or whatever the hell it's called, bored out of my skull, trying to be OCCUPIED. so the earlier the better for me. besides the fact that i, too, have just landed not only a new ace JOB but also a new ace FLAT with such luxuries as an american size stainless steel fridge and dishwasher! crazy! so let's get drinkin already!
are these the screaming 'ally is love machine' workmates you planted in the front row at your latest gig?

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 22 April 2005 12:49 (twenty-one years ago)

WHEN. IS. THE. PARTY. ?.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 22 April 2005 13:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I've been lots of places.

why did you go to Salt Lake City?

$V£N! (blueski), Friday, 22 April 2005 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

did i mention the new place is located smack dab between hubbards and the woodside? dangerous! party will be soooooooooon. you'll be the first invited ms juicy!

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 22 April 2005 13:17 (twenty-one years ago)

isn't smack dab between hubbards and the woodside, er, in the river?

stirmonster (stirmonster), Friday, 22 April 2005 16:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Who's the guy in the photo with the ace quiff?

New to town, Saturday, 23 April 2005 06:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Thank you for not posting that picture of the side of my nose. What a good night. It was lovely to see Tim for the first time in ages, and to meet Onimo, and Scotsvo. The mister brought some workmates who (1) didn't think going for a pint with internet mentalists was weird and (2) were really really nice people. Ally C's Dad turned up. My head is sore, and I still can't think of a proper reason for the SPL split. But it was a good night out (sorry I didn't stay out, but we had to eat and get a train).

I missed the best opportunity to make Onimo look really stupid. When he wandered over, looked a bit shifty and asked "are you ILX people?" I really should have thought of something more liable to make him feel stupid, rather than being so welcoming. Oh well.

Also, dahlin, I know I mentioned it about a million times and told the whole pub, but, really, you do have the best new job in the world.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 23 April 2005 06:58 (twenty-one years ago)

By the way, that first photo is the perfect illustration of total disinterest in proceedings. Keith and Cozen are looking for a way out, Ally C is more interested in stirring his poofy girlie drink, and, er, I can't think of anything about RJG. Maybe it was all his fault that everyone else was so bored.

Did anyone find Ronan?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 23 April 2005 08:33 (twenty-one years ago)

You seem like a nice bunch.

I went to a pub last night. It was terrible.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Saturday, 23 April 2005 09:01 (twenty-one years ago)

not in the river, but on the river..well, er, the banks of it.
as for my new job.... the expectations from my public seem to be high, i'll do my best to keep up the high standard of psychoticness... which means some ilx letters could very well make it in!
i hear mr cook is just going to his bed now! lordy! what did i miss? i should have got drunker.

dahlin (dahlin), Saturday, 23 April 2005 09:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Is more ruin planned for the rest of the weekend? I am broken, I think, but may endeavour to try more, if pushed. I know people are en-route to Carlisle, but later?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 23 April 2005 10:37 (twenty-one years ago)

hmm, i really do pick my moments to take my first look in months at ILE. such as, er, the day after an FAP. bugger.

did any of you see arthur scargill last night, then? this little bloke with bad hair and a funny nose came up to me on argyle street and asked for directions to the radisson. mrs fiendish and my mates swear blind it was scargill. fucked if i recognised him, though. whoops.

still, no wonder thatcher triumped: we watched "arthur" hove off under the heilenman's umbrealla, stand outside the hotel but fail to notice it, then wander the wrong fucking way up hope street.

i shall be at the isis gig in G2 on sunday night if anyone else is gonna be there. by my sideburns shall ye know me.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Saturday, 23 April 2005 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

It was nice to meet Glasgow last night. Lots of nice and funny people, none of whom looked like their photographs (or South Parkalikes). Shame I had to leave so early to cath that band (who ended up delayed by over an hour).

Thanks for not humiliating me ailsa. Good strategy from scotstvo: "I just headed for the crowd of obvious computer people"

I'm going to nurse this hangover by listening to the footy and composing a letter to dahlin that ends with "What are the chances of that?"

Onimo (GerryNemo), Saturday, 23 April 2005 12:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm still upset that Alba didn't have a tie round his head. Or, come to think of it, any other part of him.

I think I'll write stacey a letter about people with ties round their head, since there are two excellent photographs on this very thread for that crucial "(pictured)" kudos.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 23 April 2005 13:15 (twenty-one years ago)

are we really that obvious? egads

dahlin (dahlin), Saturday, 23 April 2005 17:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Evidently we are, because it worked.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 23 April 2005 18:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Stevie Jackson, answering the question "Have you seen any good bands recently?" on the B&S Q&A page:

"... Dot to Dot are pretty good, they've got early Orange Juice guitars, ..."
