That graph illustrates "August in Arkansas", so probably irrelevant to everyone.
We do have 3D weather down here. Really makes tornado season exciting.

104 today, 108 tomorrow. wanna trade this "heat dome" for Thunderdome, frankly.
― Euler, Monday, 1 August 2011 16:33 (fourteen years ago)
Ahhhhhhhhhh that is horrible. I'm so glad my parents moved out of Arkansas when I was three.
Xp and I'm glad I don't like where Euler lives. God.

I live in the Arkansas that I wish wasn't ours. We hit 111 one day last week.
― Euler, Monday, 1 August 2011 16:37 (fourteen years ago)
My yard needs mowing, but I don't have a valid will.
― time to put it in hi geir (WmC), Monday, 1 August 2011 16:38 (fourteen years ago)
It rained for five minutes yesterday, so now the humidity is crazy and the grass thinks that it's welcome to grow some more.
I did make it through the entire month of July without pushing the mower. I have no death wish.

I feel much better about our forecast now.

And can I just say: the Chrome imgur extension is really cool.
Yeah, even I am not complaining about that.

I might even sit outside on the deck at some point. (This is the equivalent of a Southern Baptist deciding to get hammered and go see Dio.)

114º today.
http://images.mylot.com/userImages/images/postphotos/2394886.jpg
In February, we had a low of 10º, which means we've spanned 104 degrees in less than six months down here.
― ≝ (Pleasant Plains), Wednesday, 3 August 2011 20:53 (fourteen years ago)
The heat's broken here, finally, & our forecast includes mostly days in the low 90s & even a few in the 80s!
tis great after yesterday's 111 + my thermostat being one of those "smart" ones the electric co can turn off to conserve power meant that my ac was off half the day, was 86 in here by day's end & it wasn't like we could open the windows for relief.
― Euler, Wednesday, 3 August 2011 21:13 (fourteen years ago)
Your electric company can turn off your thermostat if it wants to? That's a bit… far-reaching.
― ≝ (Pleasant Plains), Wednesday, 3 August 2011 21:14 (fourteen years ago)
It's a "smart" thermostat that's supposed to be part of my electric co's attempt to manage the power grid. I know that it's got to be the hell days when they choose to control it, but it was rougher than I'd hoped. They turn it off for 15 minutes & then on for 15 & repeat for up to five hours at a time, up to five days a month.
― Euler, Wednesday, 3 August 2011 21:21 (fourteen years ago)
I don't even like it when the power locks on my car lock themselves.
― ≝ (Pleasant Plains), Wednesday, 3 August 2011 21:47 (fourteen years ago)
hired a dude this morning to do my yard mowing for the rest of the year
― L.P. Hovercraft (WmC), Thursday, 4 August 2011 15:55 (fourteen years ago)
It's 76º here!
My commute this morning was delightful.
I went for a run last night and while I thought I would expire, it was not directly b/c of the heat, only I atrophied over the last month's heat wave.
Life is worth living again.

Break in the heat seems to have totally caught local forecasters by surprise! NOAA's forecast for today was 97, but it never hit 90 here. Took the dog out for a whiz at high noon and it was actually pleasant outside.
― L.P. Hovercraft (WmC), Wednesday, 10 August 2011 00:52 (fourteen years ago)
High of 74 forecast here tomorrow! It hit 111 a coupla times in the last two weeks. I'll take this!

! Chicago's at 72 right now, looking at 72 for a high tomorrow! and then 77, 79, 79.
I hate the heat, but it doesn't feel like summer if it's not hot enough to want to cool down by swimming, eating ice cream or going to the movies, and 80 is my ideal "hot" weather.

I get greedy and watch the lows instead, even though I'm never up at 4:30 when it finally bottoms out at 69º.
― Pleasant Plains, Friday, 2 September 2011 15:00 (fourteen years ago)
It's going to be hotter than hell here today - 95 and way humid. It was hot yesterday too, but this weekend is looking milder.

it's the f********* worst right now, worse than any day this summer
― brownie, Friday, 2 September 2011 22:44 (fourteen years ago)
This is not the hottest it's been this summer, but it feels worse because August was really mild and often lovely and now it's September and this is just perverse.
