Your Boring Saturday Night

hi all

i just walked a few blocks to the store and was sweating like a pig by the time i got home. it blows my mind that people are riding bikes and well, doing anything in this heat

I ate some Chicken Selects from McDonalds though. That was the highlight of my evening.

i spent most of the evening reading and drinking beer and avoiding writing an amy winehouse obit, which i now realize can no longer be avoided.

ppl across the street have gotten much much louder and drunker just in the past 45 minutes or so

I dined with my sister and bro in law but am not drunk enough to turn off Around The World in a Day. Help!

I slept past noon. The kids took naps well past six o'clock. We're bouncing off the walls. Sunny's gone to the 24 hr pharmacy.

gonna get some donuts @ 12:11 am tbrr

Tonight Rye whiskey with Pimm's and simple syrup and a movie with my lady. Hopefully next week will be cooler, today I thought I was on the verge of a heat stroke.

cooked an impressive dinner, sat round drinking a good pinot noir and playing trivial pursuit with ytth (i lost but it was really REALLY close!)

a. and i realized we don't have the key to the new laundry room yet, so we drove back to the place we've been moving out of and did our laundry there! then we went out for burgers and sweet potato fries. soooo fullll.

i just got home from trawling furniture closeout stores (and "living spaces," yeesh, so expensive!). the winner seems to be michael's in van nuys, which is great cuz they have a wonderfully low-budget local commercial.

Thanks all (and hope it all goes good for you too arby's!) Yeah we're likely going to be doing the same furniture trawling round here soon; our two big goals are a sofa and a dining table/chairs.

Packed all day. Made what might be the single most adult/yuppie furniture purchase of my life today, in which I actually went to a Design Within Reach showroom and paid for four dining chairs. They were on sale $94 each, which is almost higher-end ikea territory, but still by far the most I've paid for chairs in my life. Not to mention just the weird feeling of going to a Design Within Reach showroom and actually making a purchase.

ha, yes. kg and i had the fortune for these to fall in our laps as soon as we identified the need; she was able to score a nice roche bobois sofa in good shape from a generous friend/neighbor, and our table and chairs...well those are just a card table folding chairs her parents wanted to get rid of. this works.
