It is like every beautiful dream I ever had. I enjoy the concept that all these little girls find Tim Curry to be fucking hot btw.

Allyzay, Friday, 12 December 2003 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i heard he's started doing the audio versions of the "Lemony Snicket" novels

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 12 December 2003 15:23 (twenty-two years ago)

My mother just informed me that she finds Tim Curry hot too. God.

Allyzay, Friday, 12 December 2003 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

That's a great movie.

Allyzay, Friday, 12 December 2003 19:28 (twenty-two years ago)

now ned, how did you discover this pearl of a film in the first place?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Saturday, 13 December 2003 07:15 (twenty-two years ago)

"I Do the Rock"

weather!ngda1eson, Saturday, 13 December 2003 07:41 (twenty-two years ago)

God knows how, it must have come up on a random search or a link through a bad movie site, as bad movies are one of my pleasures in life.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 13 December 2003 07:42 (twenty-two years ago)

seven months pass...
It's coming out on dvd!

Note creepy Harry Knowles review on AICN:

Ok – this isn’t that tv series crap, this is the movie. The one with the yummy lil Fairuza Balk! Oh and even more important one of the greatest women of all time, Diana Rigg. Oh… and the Court Jester of Satan, himself… Tim Curry!!! A grossly overlooked film that has big gobs of cool all through it. If you like the cast I’ve named, you’ll love this! If you don’t… find Quint and beat him within an inch of his life! He’s who turned me on to it. Well, him and a beautiful lady I used to know. So, just consider it as highly recommended!

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 16:21 (twenty-one years ago)

i like tim as the sinister new wave dj/sleez sisters svengali in times square.

Note creepy Harry Knowles review on AICN

Thanks, I think my id just withered and died.

I was thinking about this the other day. Between this and The Apple, the world is again made right. Sorta.

I thought Tim Curry's finest hour was in Clue.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

is that 'IT' up there?

piscesboy, Tuesday, 3 August 2004 17:59 (twenty-one years ago)

i thought everyone who grew up with HBO had seen "the worst witch" every november?

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 18:01 (twenty-one years ago)

people need to watch times square.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 18:04 (twenty-one years ago)

That is one weird cast.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 18:48 (twenty-one years ago)

TIM CURRY. JENNIFER GREY. ADAM ANT. DR. JOYCE BROTHERS.

Seriously, if I was a studio head that would be all you'd have to say to me, $300m right there.

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 18:49 (twenty-one years ago)

"Paradise Garage" needs a revival. What a great single, what a crappy video.

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 18:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Seriously, if I was a studio head that would be all you'd have to say to me, $300m right there.

Have them remake that Plunkett and Maclane film with Adam and Tim as the two lead characters. Gold, right there.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 18:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I HAVE SEEN IT, IT IS AMAZING. I MEAN IT IS TERRIBLE BUT OMG.

Here's the thing. As soon as he started singing the song, I knew what he was saying. I like, knew this song, pretty well, even. Like I've heard it a few times before and found it very memorable. But I have most definitely not seen this film, ever. I would definitely have remembered something that made as little sense as the musical sequence. I can only assume that either A) this was some kind of single B) someone has made a cover of Tim Curry's song about Halloween C) I am clairvoyant.

Also we put the song on MP3, by "we" I mean Tom.

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 03:20 (twenty-one years ago)

So did you actually get the DVD? *shock and awe*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 04:50 (twenty-one years ago)

The one with the yummy lil Fairuza Balk!

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 05:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Look, let's not quote Mr. Knowles more than is necessary here.

netflix. The damage is in my gm4il account if somebody wants to hear this thing.

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 1 September 2004 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Tim Curry's finest hour was in "Clue", without a doubt.

"Communism was just a red herring."

Thank you Tombot, you are my hero.

Dare I listen?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 13:43 (twenty-one years ago)

It's really kind of key. Pull up the website for appropriate effect.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll send it. Dude do you want a gmail invite? It keeps giving me more.

FROGS IN YOUR BASS GUITAR.

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 13:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude do you want a gmail invite?

I'm resisting the cult. ;-) More seriously, that apparently IS my gmail equivalent, I have a 2GB inbox. I only found out about it last night!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

(And thanks, of course -- won't be able to listen to it for another hour, I have to go up to the front desk from 8 to 9.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Dan, are you looking at the website while you listen? It's important to see the visuals.

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 13:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know if I can handle that much goodness. (Also I'm at work)

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 14:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Okay, so. *loads up webpage and song, thanks to Ally*

?!?!? A strung out Bowie fronting a lounge band? I'm terrified!

"From London to Idaho," indeed.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 15:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I seriously didn't expect the song to sound like it was shot full of downers.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 15:38 (twenty-one years ago)

That's what makes it Halloweeny.

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 15:52 (twenty-one years ago)

ILE -- we help you relive your past.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 17:54 (twenty years ago)

I thought this was going to be about his recreation of the beloved Mr. French on the remake of Family Affair. Sebastian Cabot, move over!

k/l (Ken L), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 18:05 (twenty years ago)

my sister and i used to watch this movie

Everyone's got a material possession they're really proud of. For some, it's their new sportscar. Others, their prized hockey trophies. For the Grand Wizard, it's his cardboard sun. Curry obviously believe that this is shocking, since he hides the thing behind his back for a minute, taunting us as if we should be completely amazed that he's somehow found the elusive paper sun.

this part of the website made me roffle

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Wednesday, 22 June 2005 18:12 (twenty years ago)

Easily the best bit (of a great interview all around)

Q. A few years after that, you did “Muppet Treasure Island.” Did you have conflict with any of the Muppets?

A. I didn’t. They’re my favorites, actually. One of the great things about working with them is that you come to see them as characters and not as puppets, which is down to the brilliance of the Muppeteers. I loved Miss Piggy. We got on great.

Q. She’s difficult to share the spotlight with.

A. She is. She’s a greedy girl. It was established in the script that we had, maybe sometime in the past, some kind of a fling together. And I improvised a line which never made it into the movie: “Once you’ve had pork, you never look back.” (Deep laugh.)
