He's not evil, he's smug and arrogant, almost ubermensch-y. He's above it all morally in a very uncomfortable way. Plus the show gives no indication he's interested in getting out of the meth game at all. Per the aforementioned, he's so arrogant he believes he's the one guy smart enough to get away with it all.

tracer otm. I don't know what his endgame is but I want him to get there.
― calstars, Sunday, 17 July 2011 01:11 (fourteen years ago)
endgame is him being killed and a big insurance check going to his fam iirc
― generous doler out of lollies (forksclovetofu), Sunday, 17 July 2011 02:37 (fourteen years ago)
season 4: Walt kills chicken guy and takes over the southwest.
season 5: A mysterious man who also claims to be Heisenberg starts recruiting soldiers to take Walt's territory. Walt assumes Jesse is behind it and he kills him. Ends in a bloodbath and Hank has to shoot Walt from his wheelchair.
Final scene: Walt Jr visits his mother in prison. He tells her he loves her, and swears he'll never stop fighting to get her out. He leaves the facility. We see a shot of the sidewalk and one crutch hits the ground, then another. Pan up to see Walt Jr. putting on the black Heisenberg hat, lighting a cigarette, and hopping into a pimped out Aztek. FIN

that scene in the lab with Gus was incredible - both visually and plot-wise

have they written out the hispanic guy who drove walt to the plant at the end of s3? maybe he's just not big enough to appear on the poster.

Victor (the Hispanic guy) is still on the show.

I d/led this so I took note of how long it was from Gus's entrance to exit from the lab - ten full minutes. (Amazing sequence - rest of the ep was just OK.)
― THIS IS SATIRE BTW (Simon H.), Monday, 18 July 2011 06:01 (fourteen years ago)
I thought it was a masterpiece. The Gus scene nearly induced a panic attack, everyone involved nailed it 100%. The rest of the ep was totally built around that scene in terms of pacing. My god, what a show.

Wow! The suspense in this episode was unreal. Jesse not say one word until they are cleaning up the mess was great.so crzy that Gale was the one that convinced Gus to hire Walt in the first place.

^ i'm wondering if Hank is going to be back with the force in time to get involved in the inevitable investigation into that!

i really should have gone back and watched the end of last season because I can't remember WTF was gong on that led them to that place, I only remember the shooting. suppose it doesn't matter now.
― akm, Monday, 18 July 2011 17:56 (fourteen years ago)
we read the wikipedia summary of season 3 like 4 minutes before this ep started
helped a lot...
― iatee, Monday, 18 July 2011 17:57 (fourteen years ago)
yeah I watched the last two eps of s3 recently... not just as a refresher, but also because they're the best 2 hours of entertainment the television medium has produced in recent memory

honestly, i knew i should expect the unexpected with Gus's reaction. but i'm not sure about what he did. why do that? seems too irrational for Gus. why the need for it?
― karma's ruthless invisible (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Monday, 18 July 2011 20:01 (fourteen years ago)
i guessed he was going to kill that guy pretty much the minute he walked in. and the reason was because he's more of a liability than walt/jesse cos he was seen at gail's apartment.
― LocalGarda, Monday, 18 July 2011 20:04 (fourteen years ago)
ahhh. true. i guess the whole Gus getting killed thing could be put on him a little as well.
― karma's ruthless invisible (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Monday, 18 July 2011 20:06 (fourteen years ago)
yeah had to be that he was spotted at the scene acting weird.
― Aerosol, Monday, 18 July 2011 20:07 (fourteen years ago)
He also wanted to put the shits up Walt and Jesse big time.
― Inevitable stupid samba mix (chap), Monday, 18 July 2011 20:09 (fourteen years ago)
the scene worked, but agree it was out of character for gus... he doesn't get his hands dirty ever and then he wacks somebody?
the way I rationalized it was gus was so pissed about gale and his plans being thwarted that he had to take it out on somebody, and out of the present company that would make the most impact - keep walt + jesse intimidated plus wipe out a guy who was spotted at the scene... but it still didn't make sense given his trusted role in gus' org
xpssss
― duke of irl (Edward III), Monday, 18 July 2011 20:13 (fourteen years ago)
ya. i always thought Gus's team seemed a little sparse to begin with.

like if it says "walt's secret sauce" anywhere in there I'm sure we'll get several eps worth of it being dangled under hank's deskridden nose
― duke of irl (Edward III), Monday, 18 July 2011 20:23 (fourteen years ago)
victor's authoritative initiation of the cook was a nice piece of misdirection tho
xp
― duke of irl (Edward III), Monday, 18 July 2011 20:26 (fourteen years ago)
Gus took a risk and hired Walt in the first place because Gale convinced him 96% purity wasn't good enough, Victor wasn't going to reach anywhere near that with his.
