Aerosmith vs Thread was better than Klitschko-Haye. I was off the Internet watching the fight in a pub full of English Haye fans who by the end were, like me, hoping Haye didn't land a lucky shot as he didn't deserve a fucking thing. If you're going to what is essentially your opponent's home territory and aiming to take two belts from him you've got to do more than run and hide, throw five wild swings and fall over a lot (well done to the ref on deciding to fuck with Haye by counting him on one of those btw). Can't criticise Wlad too much as he convincingly won almost every round but I honestly thought Haye was there for the taking and that Wlad was pissed off enough with the pre-fight shit to have gone for it.

thought it was amusing that jim defended klitsch with the old defence for mourinhoish football teams like 'u can only beat whats in front of u/ got the job done' given he's ilx' biggest barcelona fan

wlad could and should have ended the torpor and torn into him with intent

MY WEEDS STRONG BLUD.mp3 (nakhchivan), Saturday, 16 July 2011 17:34 (fourteen years ago)

I am at most a casual boxing fan but if a regular ILF poster was all 'fuck this shit, they should be ashamed, Puskás would've had five' after some unexceptional 1-0 Madrid win, he'd probably get baited a little as well.

boxall, Saturday, 16 July 2011 19:20 (fourteen years ago)

aerosmith was just a lil hyperbolic but it was a really boring fight

hey aerosmith, funny that you rage about how bad a fight is one week then totally praise a pre-mendozesque scrap a week after that as if that was meant to be boxing :p

to be real though dudes needed to work on their defense!

you've got male (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 17 July 2011 10:22 (fourteen years ago)

it's true but guys who can take a punch (i.e. guys who will be staggering around seeing everything double when they're 48) don't need it - it's refreshing to see guys answer the bell and go straight to the middle of the ring

However, the fight was in Honolulu and the scoring looks really, really fishy

So... Chisora v Fury is getting underway shortly on Channel 5. Anyone watching?

It seems really weird having Mark Pougatch and his massive glasses presenting something on telly.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 23 July 2011 21:20 (fourteen years ago)

Celebrities the cameras have zoomed in on ringside: Stacey Solomon, Shane Richie, Max Clifford.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 23 July 2011 21:27 (fourteen years ago)

Chisora appears to have amended his entry music to make it a bit more racist towards Irish dudes. Hmm. Yeah, this is gonna be fucking strange.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 23 July 2011 21:28 (fourteen years ago)

David Essex also seems to be ringside, I think this means all of the Moons off EastEnders are there. For I do not know what reason, the ring introductions are being read in both English and French.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 23 July 2011 21:29 (fourteen years ago)

Oh look, there's Spoony.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 23 July 2011 21:31 (fourteen years ago)

"Let's have a listen to the Fury corner" - cut to ad break.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 23 July 2011 21:35 (fourteen years ago)

OK, that second round was rather good. Fury winning at range, til Chisora properly rattled him with a left hook, then caught him with a monster right later on. One round apiece, very intriguing now.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 23 July 2011 21:40 (fourteen years ago)

Fury very much getting on top now though, Chisora looked to be freezing up badly in that last minute.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 23 July 2011 21:51 (fourteen years ago)

They've both just spent 30 seconds of round 8 stood in a corner taking the piss out of each other. Fury definitely winning but also clearly tiring... though Chisora is probably still worse. Though he hits harder. This is a good fight but quite an odd one.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 23 July 2011 22:03 (fourteen years ago)

Chisora spent at least two solid minutes covering up on the ropes that last round, then went berserk for 40 seconds of left hooks and overhand rights, then covering up again.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 23 July 2011 22:13 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah, Fury's got that decision, no question. Good fight, though, but neither of them should believe they're anywhere near ready for either Klitschko.

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 23 July 2011 22:20 (fourteen years ago)

Fury was and still is underrated. He's not beating the Klitschkos but the guy can fight.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 23 July 2011 23:38 (fourteen years ago)

And from a fan's perspective, it's wonderful to see a big guy who loves to throw uppercuts and body shots. He "likes it hot in the kitchen" as the old saying goes.

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 24 July 2011 02:25 (fourteen years ago)

Zab getting caught with a lot of right hands, he may just have a puncher's chance here.

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 24 July 2011 02:28 (fourteen years ago)

zab is a mug. if this glass jawed cheeky english wank can make a fool of him then he deserves everything he gets.

khan p impressive so far

MY WEEDS STRONG BLUD.mp3 (nakhchivan), Sunday, 24 July 2011 02:36 (fourteen years ago)

Khan is awesome. Glass chin, but in every other respect he's a fantastic fighter imo.

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 24 July 2011 02:42 (fourteen years ago)

shame on the HBO announcers for saying Zab is Khan's bets opponent.
