this season is so funny. it's pronouncedly kinda 'boardier', you know? like in keeping with not just being about LD's divorce but in it being about him & some guys shooting the shit around a table, more.

I recently rewatched the one where he gets Larry and Jeff to go and say hi to his crazy sister played by Catherine O'hara and Jeff ends up fucking her. Everything about Funkhauser and her on that ep is great. The dinner scene at Jeff and Suzy's house is just next level.

I haven't seen any of this season yet though :(.

My best friend sort of resembles Jeff and p much sounds exactly like him. The first time I made this connection it freaked me out hardcore. If I close my eyes when listening to either one of them speak it could be the other. It's wild.

That makes it sound like I know jeff irl or something. I just meant if I close my eyes while watching Jeff on the TV.

that's so great. that's such a good coincidence to have in your favour. i remember re-watching the motorcycle diaries & becoming very fond of i think alfredo, che guevara's traveling buddy, really richly depicted in being this gregarious, bear-ish, physical guy who'd grab a shoulder and be patting people on the back. and jeff has that kinda huge, warm bear thing.

You could see this in the last episode when Jeff's stroking the pillow like a cat.

Comedians cracking themselves (except in the case of fallon) or each other up is the best.

holy shit the last episode was AMAZING. easily one of the best ever. the final shot of larry making indecisive faces was the perfect finish.

also jeff is genuinely laughing a ton this season -- my favorite was in the second episode when funkhauser was talking to jeff re his burlesque dancer gf and said "have you set aside a date to look at her face?" -- jeff really cracked up

Palestinian Chicken episode is amazing! I was almost sick with laughter.

I loved how he relished being the 'social assassin' at first - the way he was casually leaning on the kitchen counter, then slowly started to walk toward Eileen with malicious glee on his face.

Also the way he mimicked the 'safe house' woman's annoying speech inflections when she came to the door.

Interesting seeing the carryover of actors from Justified on this show. I'll chalk it up to coincidence up until Walton Goggins shows up.

This is seriously as good if not better than it's ever been.

Loved the first two eps - massive comic potential in the 'all bros together' setup. I hope Ted Danson and Wanda turn up soon.

I think I read Danson moaning somewhere that despite letting David use their summer house to write in they hadn't been included in this season. But I never know if he's joking or not.

I've been rewatching and I think it might have hit a peak late in season 6 that it hasn't quite gotten back to yet, but it's got a chance.
