HBO adaptation of Game of Thrones - will this be just for nerds? (NO SPOILERS PLEASE)

probably my biggest complaint with it. not that it ruins the show or anything, and sometimes it is purposeful. the general grievance seems to be down to "hey, we're HBO!" but I think it has more to do with "hey fantasy geeks, you like tits right?", which is much worse.

i wouldn't call myself a fantasy geek (although i did watch the entire first season of GAME OF THRONES so perhaps this particular elven longship has sailed) but i mean i like tits

nevertheless i almost wished the show had held off on them entirely until the last shot of the season just to up the impact of the whole STRIPPED TO NOTHING AND YET MORE POWERFUL THAN EVER thing but yeah this is an hbo adaptation of a series that was pretty titty to begin with so it's inevitable.

that would have been more "impactful" if she had also been bald the way shes supposed to be. and if she was nursing the dragons too.

i wondered if they'd keep the nursing the dragons, i think that was the first time reading them i went 'errrrrrrr'

three weeks until book six! CANT WAIT

They probably though one weird breast feeding scene was enough for the season

what good is hbo if you can't do multiple weird breast feeding scenes

dragons are reptiles (they don't nurse from teats) so i think making it more herpetologically correct was a smart move on the part of hbo.

i was sort of wondering what they would start off eating.

like, i doubt Gerber makes baby dragon food.

There's a point during the Hand's tournament where the Hound escorts Sansa back to the Red Keep and totally freaks her out (he's the one who tells her about the Mountain melting his face off), but by the second day, she seems to have grown attached to him -- am I reading that right? Am I to presume that their little heart-to-heart the night before is the beginning of a beautiful BFFship?

Oh and btw, is there some kind of literary punning with Gregor Clegane and Sansa, i.e. Gregor Samsa?

no, pretty much everything regarding Lyanna is written very evasively in the books, you probably didn't miss anything

just finished watching season 1 after it taking over my life in the last week! absolutely brilliant series and the setup for S2... There's gonna be dragons, and zombieeez... Oh ma god Lydia!

okay, so holy shit, i just watched episode 10. dunno why i waited a week & a half, but it's the best of the series by far, by far. everyone comes into their own, esp danaerys and sansa, both delivering their strongest performances to date. first ep that's really moved me, too, esp cat w robb after news of eddard's death and jon snow with sam & co in the night. and that final shot! can't believe i have to wait a whole damn year to find out wot happens next...

You could always read the books
