Those crochet-looking fractals are pretty neat. And I do think that if people who love high-end stereo equipment can call themselves an audiophile (and conversely audiophobes for those who hate/have an irrational fear of hi-fi) then there's no reason one cannot self-label as a trypophile. This thread is drenched in philia rather than phobia anyway.

The accepted name for the phobia is trypophobia. Since there's no such phobia or word as tripophilia, it would be too confusing. What's the importance of the name change? If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

There's no such word as trypophobia either, in any dictionary I can find. "Phobia" does not accurately or fully cover the range of reactions in this thread.

The toad doesn't have holes, it has clusters of eggs on its back. The eggs are absorbed by the mother's back. When they hatch, then they leave holes.

As far as the word trypophobia is concerned, it is in the urban dictionary. The administrator of the group in Facebook is working on getting it into the Oxford dictionary since there are so many people who suffer from trypophobia (over 4,000 in the FB group alone) and there are whole slew of triggers. You all know that if you google trypophobia, you get hundreds of hits. I tried googling tripophilia, and the only thing I got was a couple of YouTube videos in Spanish.

I realize that I'm not the most liked person in this group, constantly being attacked, the latest of which I've been referred as an acid head. You guys need to grow up and stop with the finger pointing and name calling. I've had trypophobia probably before you all were born and when most of you were all just a gleam in your daddies' eyes. So please stop with the amateur diagnoses. There are varying degrees of trypophobia, from mild to severe. Just because I post a large number of photos, it doesn't mean that I'm not trypophobic. I just like posting photos, and have no ulterior motive. So please stop picking on me!
