friends events feature is fucked up. it is not showing all of my friends events.

I just got a whole new rash of friends and I'm now experiencing that whole 'worlds collide' thing because I never had to manage them into lists before or hide what other ppl say and ugh...shit is getting out of hand.

not ilxors, lol. friends from a fan page I joined, who are kind of weird and foulmouthed and well, less normal IRL than I gave them credit for.

I'm hiding most of them from my feed, and I've tightened up my profile as much as I can but ugh, doing the whole 'not these people but this list' 'not this list but these people' makes my head hurt.

John, that's really weird. It's like he wanted a public declaration of being in the same place with you, but without all the mess of actual human interaction. Unless there's a setting that automatically attempts to check you into places where your FB friends have checked in? There is some kind of automation in the check-in feature, but I turned that off pretty quickly so I don't know the ins and outs of it.

You know... I don't want to wish everybody I'm FB friends with a happy birthday. And I am not going to feel guilty about it, either, because I just don't care that much.

Haha yeah in all honesty I suspect the bday reminder tool makes people lazy about birthday wishes. I mean I know I'm the worst offender at forgetting birthdays anyway but something about being reminded by FB feels in authentic.

The hilarity of it is emphasised by a friend who deliberately had his DOB as 01/01/70 so everyone was wishing him happy birthday in January... even people who should have known better!

I had a friend who changed his birthday to take place every three weeks, was pretty lol to go to his wall and see hundreds of birthday wishes all throughout the year

haha I considered doing that once but decided it would be kinda assholish and would prob make some nice people resent me

I do it the other way, every six months setting my birthday for six months ago.

WHY are they obsessed with getting me to chatz? That sidebar appears every 5 seconds no matter how many times I switch it off, and seems to float around taunting me. FUCKKKK OFFFFFF!

is anyone else noticing a bug where the # of 'likes' for certain things is absurdly high? one comment on a wall post has 287 likes atm. gf's account has the same bug, so I'm wondering how widespread it is.

I think thats a site thing rather than a FB thing though I'm not sure - I've c&p'ed text from The Age paper and it appends a link to the article (grr) which I'd have to strip off. I see why they do it, but fuck it is annoying.

Yeah thats what I mean. I wasnt pasting a link, I just cut and paste a bit of text out of an article and it did it!
