Guys. I've been sick for the past couple days and thought I was getting better but I've started feeling really really crappy the last couple hours and I think I'd be kidding myself if I think I'm going to be up for anything other than napping come 5:00 pm so I think we're out for tonight. Please don't be mad at me. I was really looking forward to it but I've started to really go downhill the last couple hours. :( I really want to hang out soon though so hopefully we can, in fact, do something again next week? Maybe?

I'm sorry I missed this thread! I flew to Boston for that show! Partly because I've never been to Boston and a friend has been inviting me to visit for years, and partly because I couldn't pass up the chance to see them one more time. They did two shows in Minneapolis in 2005, which Chris Butler filmed for a documentary (still working on it). I thought that would be my last chance to hear them, but bassist Candice, who got her Ph.D. in public health at Harvard and is a professor at Boston U, just wanted to rock. So John came from L.A., they got together with their third and last drummer Zach, had two long rehearsals, and freakin' blew the roof off T.T. the Bears. Great to hear some old favorites that brought me back to the basement shows they played when we were at Macalester. I was tempted to go to Brooklyn for their second show, but wanted to catch up with friends and explore Boston (loved it). So just two shows for fun, but they had a blast and maybe they'll do it again and not wait six years before next time.

Last time I was there was probably 2007 too - for the Thermals, I think. I like TTs a lot though. They have a dance thing on Friday night (maybe Sat idk) that I want to check out but I'm pretty sure everyone there will be like 12 and annoying so I haven't yet.

I enjoyed the eats too. Middle East before the TT show, Island Hopper (Malaysian), Redbone's (BBQ), a lobster roll at James Hook, and Legal Seafood.

Yeah I ate at the mid east recently and it was surprisingly good!

I got to talk to all three of them and was totally effusive and gushy. They are better musicians than half the pro classical ppl I know.
