you should pull ppl over and ticket them:

$50 if they aren't listening to The Current
$200 if they are listening to The Current

mr. perry is just all good ideas all the time

mh, Thursday, 16 June 2011 19:20 (fifteen years ago)

gov dayton was on npr this morning and said that one unspecified group was going to be a bringing a constitutional argument to the mn courts next week saying that the mn constitution specifies that no funds can be apportioned in this case, which means that if they win, they have to shut down the prisons.

so yknow its booze up and riot time really

lemon kerrang! (jjjusten), Thursday, 16 June 2011 19:33 (fifteen years ago)

at least you get to vote on amending the state constitution to ban gay marriage!

chupacabra - a delicious burrito (DJP), Thursday, 16 June 2011 19:34 (fifteen years ago)

Right then, I'm flying in on Sunday afternoon, and out on wednesday afternoon. I'll be out in the southern exurbs. If y'all would like to meet up for a drink or just to see if I'm actually real, contact me thru FB or the link thru my login here. I need to meet for local folks when I go on these trips.

I'm out here in Shakopee, where I finished up the gig today and found a nearby used video game shop. Aside from the creepy shrines to Mega Man and Final Fantasy(they had two actual swords), they sold Virtual Boys. Trippy.

Wish I had more time here, since I'd hit up the Valleyfair Amusement Park just to see Planet Snoopy. Roller Coasters and Peanuts characters are ideal. Also kinda wish Hulk Hogan's pasta restaurant was still open in the mall. Will try to hit up the Science Museum tomorrow.

Still, mexican food tonight in Eagan for all interested.

Crazed Mister Handy (kingfish), Tuesday, 21 June 2011 20:20 (fifteen years ago)

Sorry man, but it's my friends birthday tonight and we're headed out in mpls. Thanks though! Hope you've stayed dry today!

rebel yelp (gbx), Thursday, 23 June 2011 20:59 (fifteen years ago)

Do they not allow cameras there either?

Pleasant Plains, Thursday, 23 June 2011 20:59 (fifteen years ago)

no that's just what wisconsin looks like

rebel yelp (gbx), Thursday, 23 June 2011 21:00 (fifteen years ago)

must be amazing, insufferable

ha that was my reaction

like, I totally want to go there on my next visit but I could totally see the experience becoming really grating right at about the 10 minute mark (3 min if it was raining)

chupacabra - a delicious burrito (DJP), Thursday, 23 June 2011 21:00 (fifteen years ago)

you'd have to go with people you liked.

~edgy~ (goole), Thursday, 23 June 2011 21:01 (fifteen years ago)

that's pretty key to a lot of stuff, protip

~edgy~ (goole), Thursday, 23 June 2011 21:01 (fifteen years ago)

*smacks head*

chupacabra - a delicious burrito (DJP), Thursday, 23 June 2011 21:02 (fifteen years ago)

rebel yelp (gbx), Thursday, 23 June 2011 21:02 (fifteen years ago)

lemon kerrang! (jjjusten), Thursday, 23 June 2011 21:18 (fifteen years ago)

i dunno man we could swing out to my dad's and take the boat down, sky's the limit

rebel yelp (gbx), Thursday, 23 June 2011 21:18 (fifteen years ago)

YES YES YES

chupacabra - a delicious burrito (DJP), Thursday, 23 June 2011 21:25 (fifteen years ago)

lemon kerrang! (jjjusten), Thursday, 23 June 2011 21:27 (fifteen years ago)

not gonna front, I was thinking that

chupacabra - a delicious burrito (DJP), Thursday, 23 June 2011 21:27 (fifteen years ago)

summertime jam was going for pizza in prescott. it always felt exciting to actually take a boat TO someplace

rebel yelp (gbx), Thursday, 23 June 2011 21:28 (fifteen years ago)

Its anarchy, baby. Cancel your plans to go to the Zoo/State Parks/Truck stops :(

monster_xero, Friday, 1 July 2011 18:42 (fifteen years ago)

the state parks thing must be messing with ppl's holiday plans, for real

anyhow, fuck these guys. they even stonewalled a plan to raise taxes on ONLY the top 1%, iirc. it's infuriating.

also: when the fed shuts down AND we're still lacking a state gov't, it's gonna be str8 thunderdomin

g++ (gbx), Friday, 1 July 2011 18:47 (fifteen years ago)

Man, I had some hot truck stop plans for the weekend. :(

ephendophile (Eric H.), Friday, 1 July 2011 18:51 (fifteen years ago)

so i am thinking about moving in the fall. i like my apartment, and being close to the lakes, but no one i know really lives in uptown and it's weird living on the same street i grew up on. being in my childhood nabe has made it easy to ignore other parts of the city (what happens in NE???), and i need to change things up.

what do you suggest

g++ (gbx), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:00 (fourteen years ago)

i dig the saint paul, esp midway/cathedral hill.

lemon kerrang! (jjjusten), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:03 (fourteen years ago)

NE just isnt really my thing but stuff happens there i guess?

lemon kerrang! (jjjusten), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:04 (fourteen years ago)

I'm not unhappy at all with the Nokomis area. That said, I'd probably have chosen to buy in NE if I could do it all over again.

ephendophile (Eric H.), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:06 (fourteen years ago)

(I'm sort of underselling Nokomis, actually. I think it's in a lot of ways a fantastic section of town.)

ephendophile (Eric H.), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:06 (fourteen years ago)

yeah i've been thinking about midway, but no one would ever visit me :(

proximity to pals is a huge motivation here---most ppl i hang with on the reg live in Seward/NE

g++ (gbx), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:08 (fourteen years ago)

i guess i don't know the nokomis area, like, at all? i mean i've been to the lake, obv, but i sort of have no 'feel' for basically everywhere in the city that isn't uptown or the seward

g++ (gbx), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:09 (fourteen years ago)

cooper/longfellow don't seem bad, either. i want walkability, proximity to groceries, relatively cheap, and close enough to my friends that casual "what're you up to?" hangouts easier.

g++ (gbx), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:12 (fourteen years ago)

people who wouldnt visit you in the mighty midway arent people imo

lemon kerrang! (jjjusten), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:14 (fourteen years ago)

yeah i've been thinking about midway, but no one would ever visit me :(

i live near the midway and you are correct

goole, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:15 (fourteen years ago)

btw i would like to assert once more that the might midway is gonna blow up once the light rail goes in. my mom is trying to sort her living situation and since she's limited transportation-wise i think she should invest in a duplex and make bank when the hipsters eventually flock there

g++ (gbx), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:19 (fourteen years ago)

u guys could visit each other PROBLEM SOLVED

lemon kerrang! (jjjusten), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:20 (fourteen years ago)

if i stay in mpls/stpl for residency then i'm definitely going to give the nabe a good look---it'll be insanely convenient v. it's current nowheresville vibe

g++ (gbx), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:20 (fourteen years ago)

ok let me just run down where i've lived in order

uptown: you have been there
loring: never live here. do. not.
longfellow: pretty nice, much nicer now that there are more bars and stuff, the bit by the river is a little more gentrified now, and the greenway's there. it's like seward only a little dumpier. i don't think you can really rent in seward? idk. far away from everything except the U, if that matters.
merriam park (stp): stay the fuck out, all this izzy's is mine
