Aren't the ILX servers located in the UK? Which, technically, doesn't even have a constitution? It's funny how American Internet people sometimes assume their laws apply everywhere else too.

Tuomas, Friday, 27 May 2011 07:00 (fifteen years ago)

Server is in the Republic of Canadia.

Ban is v harsh btw - new poster posts gross pictures to freak people out in thread full of gross pictures that freak people out.

A regular poster would never have been banned for this. Unless it was Whiney.

idk why she was banned tbh. are moms who do not understand the U.S. Constitution not welcome on ILX?

LL Coolna (absolutely clean glasses), Friday, 27 May 2011 10:16 (fifteen years ago)

tough world out there for a trypophile :((

I didn't know ilx user "max" had a sibling named "buff" though. does "buff" ever post here?

I think you might have missed the actual images in buff's retaliatory posts.

And you may be right about a more established poster not being banned, but when someone joins a group or community and immediately behaves like a disrespectful asshole, he or she isn't going to be given the deference that a long term user might be.

Jesse, Friday, 27 May 2011 13:33 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah I missed those.

I'm not looking at any more images in this thread unless somebody hollers for a mod, and even then, maybe not.

Sorry if I pissed off anyone.

buffandmaxsmom, Saturday, 28 May 2011 23:58 (fifteen years ago)

I think the skin graft pics might have broken my threshold for this thread, and not b/c of anything having to do w/ holes or patterns. more just like in a JESUS CHRIST FUCKING SKIN GRAFTS sort of way.

bloomps! (there it is) (Pillbox), Sunday, 29 May 2011 00:02 (fifteen years ago)

xp - not criticizing u for posting them. imo they are w/in the realm of fair play for this ghastly thread. just sayin..

bloomps! (there it is) (Pillbox), Sunday, 29 May 2011 00:04 (fifteen years ago)

Hi buffetal. Welcome back.

Jesse, Sunday, 29 May 2011 00:33 (fifteen years ago)

I agree that skin grafts look repulsive. I'm hoping that neither I nor anyone I know has to get one. I've even seen one on the 'Net on a dog's leg. They prevent infection and save lives.

buffandmaxsmom, Sunday, 29 May 2011 00:39 (fifteen years ago)

Hi Jesse, thank you.

buffandmaxsmom, Sunday, 29 May 2011 01:04 (fifteen years ago)

for the record my "oh jeez that is NOT OKAY!" was more "aw man WHOA THAT'S GROSS DUDE HAHA" and not "I want to let you know I'm seriously upset right now" But really, maybe not so much skin grafts or body mutilation so much any more.

gucci gucci bertolucci bergman kurosawa (Stevie D(eux)), Sunday, 29 May 2011 03:29 (fifteen years ago)

And for the record, I was repulsed by all the melted faces, zombie being hit by a car and stuff all over the windshield, that poor cat with no face, none of which is trypophobic. Also, all the surinam toad videos is a little on the overkill side. The chopped up pig shows animal mutilation, albeit livestock. I'll do my best with not posting "gross" photos as you say, even though I'm not sure where to draw the line, as the melting faces posted above are vomit inducing. Perhaps the administrator of this thread should create a list of do's and don'ts as far as exactly what type of photos are allowed to be posted. I belong to the trypopobia group in Facebook, and that group has over 2,000 photos in its gallery, so I have several to choose from to post here. FYI, the group has no animations such as the zombie-car one here. They're all related to trypophobia. The fact that I was banned for a few days made me feel that I was treated unfairly, but now that I'm back, I'll try to keep in mind what and what not to post here. When I was referring to "unconstitutional," I was referring to the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. In the future, should I offend anyone, please say so, and if it is decided that I should be banned, I request a fair warning before that is accomplished. Thank you.

buffandmaxsmom, Sunday, 29 May 2011 05:26 (fifteen years ago)

I just browsed this thread today, for the first time in a few weeks since I'd last bookmarked it, and (completely objectively & w/ zero insider knowledge), I'm p. sure u got tempbanned more for the quantity of consecutive posts & not so much the extremity thereof.

bloomps! (there it is) (Pillbox), Sunday, 29 May 2011 05:39 (fifteen years ago)

Oh yeah the melted faces are def not trypophobic at all, but aren't they from Raiders of the Lost Ark?

gucci gucci bertolucci bergman kurosawa (Stevie D(eux)), Sunday, 29 May 2011 05:42 (fifteen years ago)

It was unknown to me that there is a maximum amount of photos to be posted in this thread. If there is, I'd like to know that information. I still feel that I was treated unfairly, since I had no information or guidelines to go by. If someone would point out where that is written, I will read it and bookmark it for my future use.

buffandmaxsmom, Sunday, 29 May 2011 05:50 (fifteen years ago)

U got banned because people said oh hey stop posting super gross stuff and you responded with oh yeah u can't silence me and posted even grosser stuff which if you are being fair is pretty much a full asshole move.

This is the logo from a band called "Disembowel" (cute!). I find it to be trypophobic and it skeeved me out a little.

buffandmaxsmom, Sunday, 29 May 2011 05:56 (fifteen years ago)

I still would like to see guidelines as to what is deemed "gross," as most trypophobic images are in fact gross. That particular photo I posted (the hand) is in the facebook photo gallery and has not been deleted by the administrator of that group. It is considered a "repetitive pattern" or "cluster." Those are images considered to be trypophobic, as I am sure you all are aware of. The same goes for skin grafts. They are considered a repetitive pattern, and some trypophobes consider the image to contain "holes." Lastly, as a 63-year-old grandmother, I would appreciate that swear words such as "asshole" and "fuck you" not be used when writing a post directed at me. It's not necessary in order to get a point across. Thank you!!

buffandmaxsmom, Sunday, 29 May 2011 06:16 (fifteen years ago)

Justen, are you the administrator of this group?

buffandmaxsmom, Sunday, 29 May 2011 06:22 (fifteen years ago)

I mean, come on, there is a difference between an inanimate object with a series of holes, and a hand mutilated by a paper shredder. Surely you can realize this. Yes, skin grafts and melty faces are also gross, but somewhere there is a line and I guess enough people agree that mutilated hands crosses it.

just fyi A) first amendment does not actually grant you the right to say whatever you want to whomever you want with 0 consequences B) US federal and state censorship laws do not really apply to having your images on a message board modified; if you were contacted by authorities and told it was illegal to post gross pictures on a message board, that would be a slightly different story.

gucci gucci bertolucci bergman kurosawa (Stevie D(eux)), Sunday, 29 May 2011 07:03 (fifteen years ago)

Stevie you're arguing with a 63 year old grandmother!!!

dayo, Sunday, 29 May 2011 07:04 (fifteen years ago)

buff, this isnt a trypobia group. This is just a random thread about it on a generalist board. I dont know if you're aware.

The man who mistook his life for a FAP (Trayce), Sunday, 29 May 2011 07:16 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, Stevie, don't argue with old ladies! Seriously, guys, let's drop it. I've been trypophobic before most of you were born, so I pretty much know what is and what is not trypophobic. That being said, let's move on.

buffandmaxsmom, Sunday, 29 May 2011 07:20 (fifteen years ago)

buffandmaxsmom, are you freaked out by cheese graters?

bloomps! (there it is) (Pillbox), Sunday, 29 May 2011 07:24 (fifteen years ago)

Grrrr, the title on top of this page says, and I quote: "Trypophobia: (A Picture Thread?)"

buffandmaxsmom, Sunday, 29 May 2011 07:24 (fifteen years ago)

bloomps: Of course not. Are you? Have you had a dream about your skin having a cheese grater pattern?

buffandmaxsmom, Sunday, 29 May 2011 07:26 (fifteen years ago)

I'm freaked out by cheese graters, but more b/c I envision myself mishandling them than anything having to so repetitive patterns.

bloomps! (there it is) (Pillbox), Sunday, 29 May 2011 07:29 (fifteen years ago)

to do w/ repetitive patterns

bloomps! (there it is) (Pillbox), Sunday, 29 May 2011 07:29 (fifteen years ago)

How on earth could you mishandle a cheese grater? You'd have to be a real doofus to do that.

buffandmaxsmom, Sunday, 29 May 2011 07:37 (fifteen years ago)

why didn't we destroy this thread when we had the chance
