they're these two guys who met at temple u. maybe go to comedy central's website and watch a bunch of their stuff. they're sort of obsessed with public access television, infomercials, low budget televisuals in general

they also fixate on toilet humor, which can get old fast, but aside from that, i think they are genuinely hilarious when they focus on the nuances of whatever i mentioned up there in the first paragraph of this post. so, at their best they do spot-on absurd takes on the dumbest aspects of nineties popular culture and beyond. it's worth a look. the kind of thing you might have to warm up to or sift past the crud to get into

they're absurdist humor, i guess, for lack of a better description, and yeah drugs probably help

yeah dell totally otm. It is, in my opinion, totally and completely about the nuances: their little pauses and twitches and facial expressions and the manner in which they deliver lines, etc. Also, they reach a level of weird that's very difficult to attain, and they sort parody vibes and scenarios more than like actual concrete ideas or objects.

they can be great and then all of a sudden they're really not. i was a big fan and then i saw them live and now I kinda can't stand them.

They also incorporate actual public access weirdos and other unhinged people into their work. They found these guys ... probably online, not sure. But worked with them a ton:

Yeah when theyre on, theyre fantastic - I love Weird Al's bits in the show for example. Its a real "love it or hate it" show tho. Guy I'm seeing atm hates it, he was stony faced when I showed it to him lol.

This sort of nails it. I've seen some damn poor imitations, and really, they weren't doing anything much different than T&E. Somehow, T&E pull it off.

Sunny was not a fan, but I've caught her watching over my shoulder a time or two.

Yeah idk. I don't think T&E are my thing really. On the other hand, I could (and have if I'm totally honest) watch Stairway to Stardom videos for hours.

I was just poking around Superstar's youtubes and there was one of him "chilling at home" so I started watching it and it turned out to be him posing in daisy dukes on a bed strewn with stuffed animals. Disturbing. Then the screen froze and a co-worker came over and I couldn't minimize. Not awkward at all.
