it shows how much stats can be inaccurate/not tell the whole story. Seb doesn't surprise me tbh, he's been poorly treated by McCarthy in terms of play time. Fletcher hasn't looked that great bar the last couple of weeks imo but has had injuries, van Damme didn't get a chance or want a chance depending on who you believe, i said before if Guedioura hadn't been crippled by Sidwell at the start of the season we'd have been safe 2 months ago.

Milijas shd play more, Jarv is mad over-rated, Doyler's game is about a lot more than goals/assists, O'Hara's too, Hunt is coming good and will be a mile above Jarv if he stays fit next season.

when doyle plays, it's a lone frontman- has that been the case for SEB and Fletcher?

kinda pleasing how that list would fit pretty well into a teamsheet, looking at it, with a few spare for the bench

I think Fletcher's had a couple of goes as lone striker but he's not a target man in the Doyle vein. Seb needs another front man alongside him i think. Doyle takes a load of weight off the midfield with his possession and wd probably be yr archetypal FM2010 "Defensive Forward" as much as anything.

so for next year- 442 with SEB & Fletcher, or 451 with Doyle, or is there another way

like both of those options. i think Seb or Fletcher cd play deep behind Doyle too. more important for next season is that Hunt and Hammill and Guedioura get used better/more often. also wd like to sign O'Hara but i think he's more of an engine than a creative guy.

my ideal wd be rebuild the defence, hopefully with Zubar back fit at right back, then either Milijas or a holding MF deep, O'Hara going box to box or possibly shielding Milijas, Hunt left, Hammill right, Guedioura advanced MF behind Doyle. Fletcher and Seb for extra attacking options.
