Sanchez is a very exciting player but he's really not what Utd need at all.

started getting tactically smarter the next season. Year after that they signed petrescu, gullit and hughes and improved tenfold. (still finished 11th, mind and Gullit, hughes and Petrescu often looked like they were the only players on the pitch who knew how to pass the ball).

interesting to consider though, whether this is a cup final thing. city are a decent technical side, but the game on saturday was pretty poor, as most cup finals have been.

even the exciting one (liverpool-west ham) was technically tragic.

and then probably the best technical/tactical game I have ever seen was the 2007 FA Cup final between Chelsea and United which everybody writes off as a borefest. it probably was, but the quality of control and passing and intelligence of movement and subtleties of coaching in that game were incredible.
