seriously no zinging Arsenal but that must be the 3rd most important match of the afternoon, if that

wanking on the moon (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:12 (fifteen years ago)

Wenger should read up on Einstein's thoughts on insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:13 (fifteen years ago)

Beautiful goal by Bent ;_;

Arsenal's lap of appreciation:

James Mitchell, Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:15 (fifteen years ago)

arsenal's defense is pish.

Introducing the Hardline According to (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:16 (fifteen years ago)

Darren Bent, Demba Ba - David Bentley is sure to score for Birmingham today, isn't he?

Fuck.

boxall, Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:16 (fifteen years ago)

looooooooooool

wanking on the moon (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:17 (fifteen years ago)

ha. "arsenal's season is collapsing around them" ok commentator it took today for that to happen.

vermaelan having a shocking first game back.

also lol xpost is ronan saying that 'you'll never walk alone' and occasionally being loud is what makes liverpool special? because lolz.

popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:18 (fifteen years ago)

ok commentator now saying that inexperienced chesney let in goals that almunia wouldn't. comedy gold today.

popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:20 (fifteen years ago)

hang on i thought Arry wanted Spurs to throw this one

wanking on the moon (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:20 (fifteen years ago)

think the league have introduced a new law this season whereby if you ship enough goals to Villa on the penultimate weekend of the season then you forfeit yr CL place

wanking on the moon (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:21 (fifteen years ago)

Almunia's large vestigial tale means he rarely gets five-holed.

boxall, Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:22 (fifteen years ago)

"resist crossing the ball - it's not their style" would also help if his back wasn't to goal while no-one was in the box.

popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:24 (fifteen years ago)

Classy of Downing to put that out when his own teammates played on.

boxall, Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:25 (fifteen years ago)

Correction: David Bentley a lock to score two goals.

boxall, Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:28 (fifteen years ago)

xp re poor coverage choices. I was in Japan for last-day two years ago when Hull stayed up and Newcastle went down. ESPN there went with Hull v Man Utd reserves, rather than Villa v Newcastle, which would almost be justifiable - except that it was clearly only so people could watch Man U because the commentator & pundit Robbie Earle didn't mention the Newcastle game once. I had to interpret crowd noises to try to work out what was going on.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:29 (fifteen years ago)

oh fuck off. dunne studs ramsey in the leg as he is swinging to take a shot five yards out, nowhere near the ball, ref does nothing.

popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:32 (fifteen years ago)

Funny that David Pleat is commentating on a game in which Arsenal's season comes crawling to the kerb.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:34 (fifteen years ago)

I'd be incensed by that challenge anywhere on the pitch.

boxall, Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:34 (fifteen years ago)

Ledley King! On a football pitch!

Matt DC, Sunday, 15 May 2011 15:35 (fifteen years ago)

When I was first going to matches (1983-1986) Man Utd had a habit of looking like they were finally going to win the league, being well in contention as spring started, and then spluttering to the end of the season dropping points everywhere and limping in in fourth place miles behind the leaders, with the final league table giving no clue as to how their season had really gone. Arsenal seem to be perfecting this end of season dip thing.

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:09 (fifteen years ago)

well someone has to keep traditions going.

popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:13 (fifteen years ago)

I want Wolves and Blackpool to stay up, I'd like West Ham to stay up too (but that's virtually impossible), I want Spurs above Liverpool (though I don't think either team *really* care that much about the Europa League).... every score is going right at the moment, except Arsenal losing to Villa which means Man City could get third spot and avoid the CL qualifiers.

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:13 (fifteen years ago)

Modric pen

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:15 (fifteen years ago)

Very very cool penalty from Modders there.

Dalglish out.

Matt DC, Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:16 (fifteen years ago)

Good to see plucky minnows Arsenal showing the mental toughness to keep the score at 2-0, great spirit and quality in the second half.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:16 (fifteen years ago)

Totally wasn't a penalty, by the way.

Matt DC, Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:17 (fifteen years ago)

man city will do whatever plebs they come across in qualifying if they're 4th anyway.

i really want blackpool to stay up for some reason.

Introducing the Hardline According to (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:17 (fifteen years ago)

Seeing Arsenal now, it's difficult to believe that just a few weeks ago they were swatting aside the likes of Leyton Orient at just the second attempt

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:20 (fifteen years ago)

Benybus out in the shop window on the left?

James Mitchell, Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:23 (fifteen years ago)

Oh, West Ham

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:28 (fifteen years ago)

Time to take a nap of appreciation.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:54 (fifteen years ago)

Hammers down and out

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:54 (fifteen years ago)

OMG, you've got to watch Charlie Nicholas and the sky sports guys if you can. Astonishing.

Cluster the boots (Billy Dods), Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:55 (fifteen years ago)

Oh man. MOTD tonight should be just the second half of that in real time.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 15 May 2011 16:56 (fifteen years ago)

David Sullivan! David Gold! Karen Brady! Lembit Opik! Linsey Dawn Mackenzie! Your boys will be going to Doncaster next season!

Matt DC, Sunday, 15 May 2011 17:00 (fifteen years ago)

wanking on the moon (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 15 May 2011 17:02 (fifteen years ago)

Truly this is a tragic day for smoking-jacketed smut peddlers everywhere.

Matt DC, Sunday, 15 May 2011 17:02 (fifteen years ago)

Jason Roberts extraordinary on 5 Live, injecting new life into "It's jumpers for goalposts!!!"

Alba, Sunday, 15 May 2011 17:02 (fifteen years ago)

Blackburn and Birmingham to go down, please.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 15 May 2011 17:04 (fifteen years ago)

okay Blackburn and Wolves need a win to be certain of staying up, the other 3 mightn't be safe even with a win but need at very least a point?

wanking on the moon (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 15 May 2011 17:06 (fifteen years ago)

think most likely (no kiss of death) is a Wolves-Blackburn draw, defeat for Blackpool and Birmingham, some kind of result for Wigan which might be enough to sneak them over Blues depending

wanking on the moon (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 15 May 2011 17:08 (fifteen years ago)

Fans of Princess Diana conspiracy stories and shit porno, your guys took one hell of a beating.

popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 15 May 2011 17:18 (fifteen years ago)

First the Daily Sport goes bust and now this.

Matt DC, Sunday, 15 May 2011 17:20 (fifteen years ago)
