I don't know if I've ever seen a host used less than Ed Helms. granted, I watched the show on demand, where they cut out the monologue and a few sketches, but that small role in the Ambiguously Gay Duo sketch was literally the only time I saw him until after Weekend Update, well into the 2nd half of the show.

Yeah. I was looking forward to it, since I went to college with him, but couldn't believe how little he was in it. Maybe they spent all week filming Ambiguously Gay Duo. I have a theory that whenever they cut to a commercial they've already shown, it's going to be a thin episode.

yeah it wasn't even really that funny, i kind of wish it was a real, normal song tho -- from a pure musical standpoint i loved it

I thought the whole episode was pretty decent. I think there wasn't a single skit that wasn't a recurring skit, but they were all pretty funny takes on them. Normally I'm like "uh, this skit again" but they were good. Especially What's That Name.

She did don a weird pregnant suit, and then they put her in stirrups, but then they completely punted on having her give birth despite a conveniently-placed pull tab on the front of her outfit. I felt robbed.

Thought this would've been a decent midseason episode; as the season finale, it felt a little short on fireworks.

Would have been awesome had they pulled the tab and JT popped out.

If they'd have pulled the What Up With That? and the live-action Ambigously Gay Duo from last week's episode and slotted them in the best of this weekend's, you'd have had the perfect season finale.

For some reason it's funny when Hader does it but was always lazy when Fallon did it. (Hader obvs funnier, but still.)

what's the time frame on when cast changes happen? interested to see what happens this year, i feel like it was a really successful year for them in terms of buzz but i wouldn't be surprised to see sudeikis or wiig or even hader leave. also not sure the supporting cast was that strong this year but i think it's stupid when they dump ppl after a year

last couple seasons the big news about who's leaving/getting fired hasn't come out until late august/early september, seems like they wait til rehearsals are starting for the season premiere to finalize or announce those kinds of decisions.

i would be pretty bummed if sudeikis or hader or wiig left -- so sick of armisen but i guess they're going to keep his shitty obama on for at least 2 more seasons, and god willing hire a black man who can do a decent obama if the guy gets a 2nd term

fun fact: fred armisen is now the voice of speedy gonzalez. there really is no ethnicity that guy isn't that he won't play!

You've gotta admit, Armisen's David Patterson had layers. Layers like, "Did you know that blind people can't see?" and...yeah, that's pretty much it.

i don't really think armisen is terrible as obama, i just think the writing for those sketches has been really poor

the same episode w/ the soul train sketch had a cold open w/ armisen as bloomberg addressing nyc after the epic snowstorms & it was really, really hilarious
