imo they're probably just trying to redeem/reboot the character so that they're not stuck in the dynamic of them tolerating or thinking about ditching him over and over

Everyone's reaction to Magnitude killed me. I'm so easy when it comes to stuff like that.

lol'd @ cougar town actors in the background

not really as fun/good/enjoyable as last week but i was surprisingly touched by pierce's speech @ the end of the episode

think this was a really season tbh & is probably my fave sitcom on right now

funperson (Lamp), Friday, 13 May 2011 03:49 (fifteen years ago)

I know they acknowledged within the episode that Star Wars themed shows are lame, but really...Star Wars themed shows are lame.

Didn't think it was at all as good a finale as I was expecting.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 13 May 2011 03:50 (fifteen years ago)

They abandoned the Star Wars thing pretty quickly though, aside from Abed's Han Solo. Thought Troy's 'death' and the rain of paint on Annie/Abed was great.

haha, I was all, "Hey, isn't that Busy Phillips? What's she doing there?" Didn't make the Cougar Town connection.

omfg i think i would have kissed abed during that. also annie covered in paint is still super hot.

really think they need a garrett and magnitude spin off where they fight crime.

popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Friday, 13 May 2011 06:14 (fifteen years ago)

I liked the throwaway gag that there's one Denny's in town Leonard is banned from.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 13 May 2011 06:17 (fifteen years ago)

Oooh you are in trouble now. Jeff Winger's study group are baller, yo. Hope you like getting balled...

popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Friday, 13 May 2011 13:03 (fifteen years ago)

imo this week was funnier than last week

some dude, Friday, 13 May 2011 13:40 (fifteen years ago)

I actually found this episode kind of beautiful, also hilarious. (Might be that I've still never watched Star Wars awake all the way through.) Also, Brie has been dizzyingly hot in the last two episodes.

This season might be my favourite season of any TV show ever.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Friday, 13 May 2011 21:17 (fifteen years ago)

Abed and Annie kissing in the paint rain kind of epitomizes all of those qualities.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Friday, 13 May 2011 21:28 (fifteen years ago)

Foreshadowed by the tryst between Hector the Well-Endowed and the elf maiden in Advanced Dungeons and Dragons.

Abed was ridiculously endearing as Han, would snog cosigned. Dude is amazing, such a chameleon

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 13 May 2011 21:46 (fifteen years ago)

Danny Pudi deserves some kind of award.

Saw Kevin Corrigan, Alison Brie and Joel McHale having dinner at Momofuku Ssam Bar last night, before they all hit the Donald Glover show (wife also reckons the posse's in town for the NBC upfronts). Had to scooch around McHale in the aisle at one point and I think he might be taller than me (6'3to4") in his cowboy boots.

Love this show, and I've finally caught up with ILX and don't have to keep avoiding the thread. Loved the ice-cream dude turning out to be the City college dean, we need more of him.

I much preferred the embarassing trying-too-hard Pierce from S1 to the evil cave troll of the second season so I'm glad they redeemed the character at the end. Final episode needed more Chang though.

Matt DC, Monday, 16 May 2011 11:26 (fifteen years ago)

yeah i rewatched season 1 recently and Pierce has SO many hilarious lines, i hope they can get him back on track now

His exit seemed pretty final though...

Wacky Way Lounge (Evan), Monday, 16 May 2011 13:32 (fifteen years ago)

Did we know before that he'd been in Community college for 14 years? Poor dude.

Caught on late - only noticed the "Black Rider's*" 'sonofabitch!' in my second viewing.

*You know he's not riding anything, right..?

?? He specifically said he was going to be on the show next year, but not in the study group in thr first episode

I haven't seen it a second time yet, but I'll be looking for that. It just occurred to me that Michael Emerson would make a pretty great professor of something on this show.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 16 May 2011 13:53 (fifteen years ago)

oh god. yes. now I want systematic Lost-actor appearances in every episode.

Oh. Fair enough. I never read anything about it.

Wacky Way Lounge (Evan), Monday, 16 May 2011 14:01 (fifteen years ago)

no, I mean in the scene itself

"I like to wear tops that show my cleavage and show off my ladies," (sic), Monday, 16 May 2011 14:20 (fifteen years ago)

He said I'm not going to be in the study group in the first episode?
Seriously though I thought he just said he was done with it.

Wacky Way Lounge (Evan), Monday, 16 May 2011 15:02 (fifteen years ago)

Figured he was implying his character was still attending the school, but it was unclear to me if they'd ever interact with him again based on the conclusiveness and drama in that last scene.

Wacky Way Lounge (Evan), Monday, 16 May 2011 15:03 (fifteen years ago)

it's not like you never see Greendale students who aren't in the study group on the show

suggest ban the subbest man (some dude), Monday, 16 May 2011 15:05 (fifteen years ago)

i mean he could become Leonard-with-more-screentime for a few episodes or something

suggest ban the subbest man (some dude), Monday, 16 May 2011 15:06 (fifteen years ago)

I'm just saying based on the tone of that whole scene it didn't seem like he has ever coming back, but yes the fact that he said he'd still be attending the school rather than saying he was done with everything hints at them winning him back somehow.

Wacky Way Lounge (Evan), Monday, 16 May 2011 15:16 (fifteen years ago)

Wacky Way Lounge (Evan), Monday, 16 May 2011 15:16 (fifteen years ago)

Or at least continuing the show in general.

Wacky Way Lounge (Evan), Monday, 16 May 2011 15:17 (fifteen years ago)

They won't be able to cope without Pierce in the group, they'll descend into even worse infighting than usual.

Matt DC, Monday, 16 May 2011 15:21 (fifteen years ago)

I much preferred the embarassing trying-too-hard Pierce from S1 to the evil cave troll of the second season

This and the new version of Chang are s2's only weaknesses imo.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Monday, 16 May 2011 15:52 (fifteen years ago)

all the blog thinkpieces about how one or both of them is ruining the show or whatever are pretty ridic though

suggest ban the subbest man (some dude), Monday, 16 May 2011 15:54 (fifteen years ago)

If this show is going to for seven years, it's going to need to somehow roll out the red carpet for my mom in the third season, without alienating the fans that we have who love nothing more than the unpredictable nature of the show, people I'm compulsively unable to betray because I'm one of them.

I haven't read any blog thinkpieces about this show. Like I said, I think s2 could be my favourite season of any TV show I've seen. I just think those two characters have grown weaker this season.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Monday, 16 May 2011 17:54 (fifteen years ago)

I seem to be in the minority for thinking S2 Abed is the problem.

Simon H. Shit (Simon H.), Monday, 16 May 2011 18:04 (fifteen years ago)

probably, yeah! Abed's been killing it.
