Lacy's brought a hype-man with him. How cute.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:24 (twenty years ago)

First round to Calzaghe, clearly. Although he's going to win this by boxing and not brawling, its definitely a treat to see him get pissed off and just start whaling on dudes.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:28 (twenty years ago)

I just hope Joe's hands hold up, and he doesn't do anything stupid like trading toe-to-toe.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:29 (twenty years ago)

10-9 to Joe in the second as well. He just flashed the best "Is that all you've got?" sneer as well.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:32 (twenty years ago)

It looks to me like he's trying to finish it within the first four. Unless his plan is to win the early rounds to force Lacy into going for a knockout, wear him out, and take the whole thing with a 10/11/12 knockout when he can't fight anymore.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:33 (twenty years ago)

"Easy! Easy! Easy!" chant from the crowd already.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:35 (twenty years ago)

30-27. Lacy has shown me nothing in this fight so far.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:36 (twenty years ago)

Lacy's got an eye cut!

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:38 (twenty years ago)

Lacy has been a joke so far. He needs a miracle punch now, which he just doesn't show any sign of coming up with. Just another great hope with a manufactured record who couldn't get protected that much.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:43 (twenty years ago)

Calzaghe: 2/5
Lacy: 11/2
Draw: 70/1

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:46 (twenty years ago)

Lacy has a big right though. Joe just has to be careful and he will win.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:46 (twenty years ago)

I don't think Lacy showed enough respect to joe, they didn't realise how good a boxer Calzaghe is.
But anyone can throw a lucky punch.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:48 (twenty years ago)

I think Joe's won 6/6 rounds so far.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:49 (twenty years ago)

I score it that as well. Lacy needs a knockdown to get anything from this. Calzaghe's girlfriend's giving it some "KILL 'IM JOE!" action as well.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:50 (twenty years ago)

This isn't going to make it past the eighth. Lacy has just been a complete humilation to boxing here.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:52 (twenty years ago)

I thought lacy was gonna be stopped there. He took a doing in that last minute.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:53 (twenty years ago)

Lacy's about four slaps from not knowing where he is. The ref is gonna have to stop this at some point soon.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:54 (twenty years ago)

One more flurry from Joe and it's over I reckon.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:55 (twenty years ago)

Lacy's face is a mess.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:55 (twenty years ago)

I scored that one a 10-10 draw.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:56 (twenty years ago)

Yeah Calzaghe tired a bit there.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 02:57 (twenty years ago)

10-9 Joe. I've seen sparring partners put up a more spirited defence.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:01 (twenty years ago)

"what round is it?"
this has to be stopped.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:01 (twenty years ago)

How is this still going? The ref should have stopped this in the eighth.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:05 (twenty years ago)

I think Calzaghe has won every round.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:05 (twenty years ago)

I score it 100-91.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:05 (twenty years ago)

HE'S DOWN!

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:06 (twenty years ago)

There's no 3 knockdown TKO in this fight, is there?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:06 (twenty years ago)

Nope. Can't be saved by the bell either.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:08 (twenty years ago)

I wonder if Lacy will come out for the last round.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:08 (twenty years ago)

He's dead on his feet. The referee must really hate Lacy to let this continue.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:09 (twenty years ago)

109-100

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:09 (twenty years ago)

He's taken a point off joe. He might have still won the round though.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:09 (twenty years ago)

I wonder if Lacy will ever recover from this beating.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:10 (twenty years ago)

This must be stopped now.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:11 (twenty years ago)

DOWN!!!

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:11 (twenty years ago)

I've seen more fairly matched domestic violence.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:11 (twenty years ago)

Lacy will recover. His career won't though. This is a straight massacre and showing up of every single one of his faults.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:12 (twenty years ago)

I can't believe the ref is allowing Lacy to get such a beating.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:12 (twenty years ago)

A boxing lesson for Lacy. Calzaghe has every round.
Magnificent stuff.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:13 (twenty years ago)

EASY!!!!

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:13 (twenty years ago)

Fantastic. That was the making of one legend, and the destruction of a myth.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:14 (twenty years ago)

Best i've seen a british boxer box since Lloyd Honeygan Vs Don Curry.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:15 (twenty years ago)

Fight is repeated at 11.25am.
I think i'll tape it. Any latecomers reading this thread make sure you don't miss this.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:16 (twenty years ago)

Calzaghe Top 5 P4P. No question about it.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:16 (twenty years ago)

Noone will want to fight Calzaghe now. He was just awesome.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:17 (twenty years ago)

He hurt his hand in the 8th round and he still destroyed him.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:21 (twenty years ago)

Calzaghe to move up and fight Antonio Tarver at Light Heavy, by the sounds of things.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:26 (twenty years ago)

Did anyone catch the points scoring? I think 2 of them were 119-105 and 119-106.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:26 (twenty years ago)

I wonder what Joe had on his ipod earlier haha

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Sunday, 5 March 2006 03:27 (twenty years ago)

And a genuinely weird ring walk

crisp, Sunday, 23 February 2020 11:33 (six years ago)

Thought Wilders corner waited waaaaaay too long to throw the towel in. Once they got through that next full round of not being able to get his legs under him after the knock down they shoulda called it. He wasn’t gonna be able to do anything and that was all damage that coulda been avoided. Wilder really just sits back waiting to throw that right and has no clue what to do otherwise.

Are we gonna get fury vs Joshua or what.

Thybulle on the Dash (Spottie), Sunday, 23 February 2020 21:41 (six years ago)

Yeah it was scary for Wilder from the body-shot knockdown onwards, think the ref was seconds away from stopping it himself.

My understanding is that Joshua would need to fight or pay off Pulev and Usyk before fighting Fury, and Fury can’t deny Wilder another fight if he wants it. Feels like it’ll be 2021 if they do get it together...

crisp, Sunday, 23 February 2020 21:54 (six years ago)

want fury to do josh

||||||||, Sunday, 23 February 2020 22:01 (six years ago)

probably drag on and on and never happen why because boxing

||||||||, Sunday, 23 February 2020 22:02 (six years ago)

The commentating was awful, making no note that Wilder was out on his feet for half the fight.

i will FP you and your entire family (rip van wanko), Monday, 24 February 2020 05:25 (six years ago)

fury would have done better if his ringwalk crown had not been so heavy

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Tuesday, 25 February 2020 21:05 (six years ago)

Maybe on YouTube in a few weeks.

RJJ's fall-off is one of the fastest and most complete that I can think of. Frustrating and sad to watch any of his fights post-2004/5

this has been the best year fuiud (rip van wanko), Saturday, 25 July 2020 02:15 (five years ago)

It’s a bad idea. These dudes are old and banged up. Unless they are broke I don’t see any upside.

Spottie, Saturday, 25 July 2020 02:20 (five years ago)

I wld imagine Jones has got to be set for life (?) but I wonder what Tyson has left if anything.

singular wolf erotica producer (Hadrian VIII), Saturday, 25 July 2020 02:24 (five years ago)

Yah jones has a steady job at least.

Spottie, Saturday, 25 July 2020 03:39 (five years ago)

RJJ at his prime was amazing. So was Shane mosley
