The worst thing about these kinds of deaths is they are so very often revenge-on-partner killings. Nothing to do with the kid at all. The man (or woman, to be fair) wants to hurt their partner, get back at them. Its why that other guy threw his daughter off the westgate bridge recently (that one was just terrible as well)

I know that was what I was thinking about all the way home...its like he isn't even really thinking of his daughter as a person, just a thing that can be used to get back at his wife. And the FB stuff is just so wrong..but on the upside all the more evidence in the murder trial. God that poor little girl.

A friend was explaining to me that myspace ditched a lot of their own stuff a while ago and rely on the facebook api and tools. I guess that makes sense business-wise, but it's still pretty amazing.

I'm all for the idea of being prepeared to slaughter/dress yr own meat if you're gonna eat meat. Learn its provenance, it doesnt grow on plastic trays.

I was the only member of my family who ate the pet cow when it was time to be slaughtered :/
(Mum bought it for meat, but then she named it and hand fed it so I don't think her heart was ever truly in that plan)

Once on my cousins farm we were eating wild rabbit (tasty but p tough) and my cuz decided to inform us this was the one he'd buckshot, and gutted and skinned, and went into detail while we were snacking on it. Hahah. That didn't go down too well. He got sent away from the table =)

I finally quit Facebook for good today. It was great to catch up with old school friends, I could do without the hurtful bullshit from college. I'm not an ungracious person, usually my strategy is if someone else is the problem and doesn't see it that way, then I let them have the floor.

Sorry about the double post.

I've drastically reduced my input to FB and as a logical consequence I visit the site way less often, but i don't really see the need to "quit" FB or to delete your account, unless you see FB as some kind of hurtful addiction.

I wanted my privacy back, I didn't want people I didn't know tagging my face in loads of images and frankly it bored the shit out of me.

It's now well over a year and I've not once regretted it.

Coming up on a year now after using it quite heavily in university. Can't say that I miss it.

I basically stay on Facebook in order to keep in touch with my family and the few friends I haven't been able to get onto Twitter yet. If they become regular users, then I'm deleting asap. Good for letting you know which fuckwits are so oblivious that they will friend request you after a) years of not speaking and/or b) huge, bitter fall-outs.

they seem to be killing their rss feeds? (which i guess makes business sense.) if this is indeed the case then i think i'll quit totally

not ilxors, lol. friends from a fan page I joined, who are kind of weird and foulmouthed and well, less normal IRL than I gave them credit for.

I'm hiding most of them from my feed, and I've tightened up my profile as much as I can but ugh, doing the whole 'not these people but this list' 'not this list but these people' makes my head hurt.
