Just put this on, but Liverpool looking great again.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 1 May 2011 12:24 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah they are fantastic. Kuyt and Suarez tearing it up.

I can haz Hitzlsperger? (oppet), Sunday, 1 May 2011 12:26 (fifteen years ago)

It'd've been nice to be still in a cup at this end of the season.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 1 May 2011 12:27 (fifteen years ago)

That was the clearest of penalties, you'd think Newcastle would appeal!

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 1 May 2011 12:40 (fifteen years ago)

First half was a bit ropey, second a lot better and pretty comfortable in the end. Lucas nutmegging Joey Barton was beautiful.

territory of the magic wand (Chris), Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:00 (fifteen years ago)

Oh Vidic fucking hell, I didn't see that in real time.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:38 (fifteen years ago)

VIDIC JUST DIE ARGH

MPx4A, Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:39 (fifteen years ago)

tbf there's something impressive about being able to handle the ball so blatantly yet (in real time) invisibly.

Antoine Bugleboy (Merdeyeux), Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:41 (fifteen years ago)

That was incredible, wasn't it? I didn't notice it in real time, it genuinely looked a great defensive header.

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:44 (fifteen years ago)

Stop whining Rooney you shit.

I can haz Hitzlsperger? (oppet), Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:46 (fifteen years ago)

I don't know why he does things like that. He seems to get caught more often than not. I'd rather go a goal down and have eleven men than have ten men and see Arsenal score a penalty.

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:46 (fifteen years ago)

Nobody in the world saw it but van Persie, it's amazing.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:47 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, it was totally innocuous looking, the swine

Efan Ekoku noticed it on the replay and then opined that the linesman "should have seen it", but not really sure anyone but RVP did

xps

MPx4A, Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:47 (fifteen years ago)

(that was still about Vidic)

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:47 (fifteen years ago)

I guess this could even out Chelsea winning when they shouldn't have though, so that's alright? The smug North Londoners are just hapless collateral damage in the wider scheme

MPx4A, Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:49 (fifteen years ago)

MOTD interviewer should just pre-emptively spark Mike Phelan out without asking him any questions

MPx4A, Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:50 (fifteen years ago)

Not sure the ball was fully over the line there. It's about time we introduced touchline technology to rid us of these dodgy throw-in decisions.

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:50 (fifteen years ago)

Chris Foy having a good game here, shame he had to card Rooney for not passing to him.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:51 (fifteen years ago)

I like this ref

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:52 (fifteen years ago)

He did the game at Old Trafford too.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:54 (fifteen years ago)

possible that even van Persie didn't see it and just knew that something v fishy happened when the ball missed his head. He must've thought he had gone mad.

Antoine Bugleboy (Merdeyeux), Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:55 (fifteen years ago)

I'm not surprised Van Injury is pissed off, but there's not much they can the officials can do about it now. If yesterday's anything to go by, the ref will give Arsenal every decision in the second half, but award United an offside winner in the dying seconds.

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:55 (fifteen years ago)

Foy is 18 and 0 in Utd games apparently

Number None, Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:56 (fifteen years ago)

And he's had more touches than Hernandez this half.

Number None, Sunday, 1 May 2011 13:58 (fifteen years ago)

I guess Utd only need a point so that dictates their approach, but if they can't get a kick against arsenal they might struggle against barcelona. Souness saying that he is 35 yards behind the lino and he could see the handball ignoring the fact that on the replay you can see theo after he's crossed it holding his head in his hands in disbelief that RVP hasn't got his head to it but not appealing for a penalty.

pandemic, Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:07 (fifteen years ago)

Was the second or third replay before I saw it - first two they were all 'well, WAS it a header?!' and I was thinking maybe he hadn't touched it at all.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:15 (fifteen years ago)

Lovely!

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:20 (fifteen years ago)

boom!!!

pandemic, Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:20 (fifteen years ago)

So seveir, no more beir (darraghmac), Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:20 (fifteen years ago)

fuck the endemic corruption in the english game btw

So seveir, no more beir (darraghmac), Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:20 (fifteen years ago)

Oof. If we lose this it's in Chelsea's hands.

poor old blacpool. a win for arsenal here and chelsea next week leaves it down to goal difference which if it goes to last game of the season is blackpool at O.T. A motivated Utd could well get 7 in that game imo.

pandemic, Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:23 (fifteen years ago)

and another thing

So seveir, no more beir (darraghmac), Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:23 (fifteen years ago)

arry out

Looking forward to seeing Wazzaroon getting increasingly wound up for half an hour.

Blackpool win at OT to save themselves, hand title to Chelsea. It's going to happen.

god here comes Squiggle.

pandemic, Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:32 (fifteen years ago)

Controversial equaliser for ManU in 97th minute. Shame putting a tenner on it won't get you anywhere because it's so predictable.

RIP Brodie, aspiring bellhop boy, 4 months old (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:36 (fifteen years ago)

Despite bossing possession for the last half hour, United have hardly had any shots

Que sera sera... (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:36 (fifteen years ago)

trying to out arsenal arsenal

pandemic, Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:38 (fifteen years ago)

clichy giving valencia so much room it's unbelievable, unless the plan is to let them have it wide and defend the cross.

pandemic, Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:40 (fifteen years ago)

not a veteran arsenal watcher but i've never seen arshavin work as hard as this before.

pandemic, Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:41 (fifteen years ago)

arsenal calm the situation down by bringing eboue on.

pandemic, Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:42 (fifteen years ago)

These Arsenal players are starting to look tired after their mid-week away CL game.

James Mitchell, Sunday, 1 May 2011 14:43 (fifteen years ago)

arshavin midfield enforcer reducers left and right
