I think they had a pretty good run til the mid to late 80s or so, but don't get the complete obsessiveness of Fall super-fans. and i own like 20-something Fall albums.. just don't consider myself obsessed.

that's a good list; there's a lot of late 80s/early 90s stuff I've never heard; I've never owned more than probably 15 Fall albums at one time

it's missing some of my favorites--Slates, In a Hole, Levitate, Imperial Wax Solvent--but I think some of those are p much expensive import only...

i'm a patient Fall fan—just kinda pick up whatever i find in the used bins, as i've done for the past decade. i do want to hear all the ones you mentioned. someday i'll get 'em. but i'll wait til i see them for $5 each, not new prices. i never need to pay $15 for a Fall album.

yeah but I like the live versions on the 2nd disc of In a Hole (extended edition) better. English Scheme has no keyboards & has a scrappier punker feel to it, while Who Makes the Nazis? is stretched out to like 8 mins with a cool repetitive extended psych-wah guitar thing that Riley plays...

the version for Fantastic Life on there is my favorite as well--absolutely monstrous--but I think that's on all CD versions of In a Hole
