RJG (RJG), Monday, 4 April 2005 11:49 (twenty-one years ago)

there is a song on diplo's 'favela on blast', the guy pronounces it like that. that's not really definitive I suppose cs it cd be singing intonation.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 4 April 2005 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Yet again, I totally forgot to try Glasgow more. Why didn't someone remind me. Though if Keith was naked, perhaps it was wise that I stayed away.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 4 April 2005 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I blame the victory.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 4 April 2005 15:49 (twenty-one years ago)

V for Victory

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 4 April 2005 16:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I just found a copy of Monday's Metro lying round the house. I wouldn't describe Cook as "enigmatic". I forgot to ask you why you are the chosen band for a night dedicated to female-led music?

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 22:40 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm trying my glasgow trip again - fri 4/15 to sun 4/17.

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 7 April 2005 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Metro? What is that? A homosexual magazine?

Onimo (GerryNemo), Thursday, 7 April 2005 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

haha

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 7 April 2005 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Strength doesn't lie in numbers.
Strength doesn't lie in wealth,
Strength lies in nights of pissful slumbers,
When you wake up, wake up! It's healthy!

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 7 April 2005 12:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Winchester. Tonight. There will be homosexuals there, I hope. Do come.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 9 April 2005 11:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, I have no money since the exhaust just fell off my car. Give me a good reason why I should go (like, tell me who's playing, tell me I can stay at your house, tell me I can get in for nothing and have drinks bought for me all night, etc).

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 9 April 2005 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

fergie's playing.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 9 April 2005 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Barry? Sir Alex? The Duchess of York?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 9 April 2005 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I forgot about Fergie! I have been feeling not that excited about tonight, somehow. Now I am excited about tonight.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 9 April 2005 12:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I was thinking of visiting but I don't know.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 9 April 2005 13:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Think on.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 9 April 2005 13:55 (twenty-one years ago)

fergie's playing with what exactly?

sarahluv, Saturday, 9 April 2005 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait and see!

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 9 April 2005 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I will wait and not see, actually.

fergie's hard life is reflected in his hard playing; it's so hard, in fact, that it's impossible.

it's a shame, to miss it.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 9 April 2005 15:03 (twenty-one years ago)

cook! you haven't? have you? bad cook.

i'm tired...i don't know which records to play. bah

sarahluv, Saturday, 9 April 2005 15:15 (twenty-one years ago)

fergie just sent me a message, asking if I could arrange an electro-acoustic guitar, for them, for tonight, because theirs is broken.

I can't.

can you?

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 9 April 2005 15:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't think so.

i am guitarless.

sarahluv, Saturday, 9 April 2005 15:27 (twenty-one years ago)

anyone is welcome, to try.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 9 April 2005 15:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Glasgow was good to me, tonight. I got to dance to my own song, then Pat Nevin gave me a lift.

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 10 April 2005 02:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I read your txt message in my sleep.

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 10 April 2005 07:33 (twenty-one years ago)

jed_ (jed), Sunday, 10 April 2005 10:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Does Glasgow fancy helping the homeless on Thursday night (14th April)?

My boys Dead City Radio will be joined by very nice people Down the Tiny Steps, The B-Men, Adam Beattie and Therisingson at a benefit we've organised for the Big Issue.

It will take place at Barfly doors at 7pm.

Interested and kindly people can e-mail me for tickets or pay at the door!

scotstvo (scotstvo), Sunday, 10 April 2005 15:20 (twenty-one years ago)

ally, you met pat nevin? I am online for about a minute, but if you are pub quizzing text me and i will try and convince the mister to come with me...

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 10 April 2005 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

ailsa, I saw you today. in glasgow central. you were five yards away, I should have shouted. I apologise for not shouting.

hi!

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 10 April 2005 20:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I was in Glasgow Central lots. First time, I was in a hurry, second time I was just ambling and trying to blend in with Hearts fans since I'd just got off a train with about a thousand of them, third time I was a bit tipsy. I didn't see you anyway.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 11 April 2005 05:10 (twenty-one years ago)

jed, i believe ally's band is playing on friday. also, there's an optimo-related fundraiser for sudan relief efforts at the brunswick hotel.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 11 April 2005 11:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Did you find a guitar for Fergie?

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 11 April 2005 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I wondered why she wasn't at the wedding.

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 11 April 2005 13:54 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG (RJG), Monday, 11 April 2005 13:54 (twenty-one years ago)

thanks! sounds good.

jed_ (jed), Monday, 11 April 2005 17:23 (twenty-one years ago)

What time are you on at on Friday, oh Dotty one? I have to go out for a work-colleague-type meal at best restaurant in Paisley (yes, I know, but it is really nice, notwithstanding the lack of competition) straight after work, but can be in Glasgow later. But will I get there in time?

I am so out of touch with popular culture, Franz Ferdinand are the only people I have heard of on stirmonster's list. Oh, and Club 69, but only because their flyers are on the counter of the place I buy my lunch. (OK, maybe I am aware of their existence on more levels than that).

I think I may have encountered Samba YaBamba at some point also, but alcohol was probably involved so I've forgotten again. Nice name, though.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 11 April 2005 17:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I am so out of touch with popular culture

join the club! supposedly they're all glaswegnas but i've hardly heard of any of them either. perhaps i should get out more?

stirmonster (stirmonster), Monday, 11 April 2005 17:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, I missed Bloc Party. I've heard of them too. They aren't Glaswegian though.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 11 April 2005 17:42 (twenty-one years ago)

thanks, for the offer, scotstvo, but the problem must have been solved, I imagine and hope.

I'm going to be in glasgow, tomorrow, for the afternoon, and I will be back for good, for better or worse, from friday.
