Riding out a particularly hard Vyvanse crash. Watched Silent Running (which kind of sucks), might move on to another movie if I can work up the energy to do so. Looking for a place that will deliver a pizza after midnight even though I'm not terribly hungry because I feel like shit and I'd like to get a nice greasy pile of self-loathing.

all of my friends and roommates went home for easter, so i'm lord of the mancave. didn't even head to the bike store to fetch a new tube like i was going to, but it was raining, so why bother going outside, right?

Hot cross buns turned out great...kind of weird and mutie-looking but tasty tasty yum.
Watched new Doctor Who- damn Surewest dvr spazzed out in the middle of it and we had to go pull down a torrent raggh
Made a weird Jamie Oliver roast chicken & potato thingy with turmeric, cumin, fresh ginger, red peppers and cilantro that I was sure was going to be all kinds of fail but actually turned out delish
Catching up on this week's Justified now.

are your Saturday nights actually boring, or is that how you spend them is something others would consider "boring"?

idk i'm in front of the computer on, among other things, ilx. not terribly boring but it's not like i'm out doing something interesting

--wound up seeing a few of my friends in a 'n3rd burl3sque show' where most of them dressed up as comic book/video game characters
--got pulled on stage as volunteer and wound up goofily faux-pole dancing and losing my own shirt
--free cheap beer from two kegs
--pretty fun night overall

I made black bean enchiladas for supper. Will watch a DVD movie with the wife soon. She's in the kitchen washing up. Then it's off to bed before it's very late, cuz i can't jump too far out of my 5 am early-rising workday schedule on the weekends or I regret it.

i had made plans three weeks ago for something that was supposed to go down earlier today, but that was cancelled earlier in the week and now won't be happening until mid-may probably. not that that would've covered tonight! it's been a while since i just went into the city by myself, although i could, and probably should, do that way more often. there's not too much to do in the suburbs outside of the house except go to stores or go out to eat or drive around, all of which i do already

but are you bored or content with this situation?

i'd rather be out doing something rad on at least some saturday's, but as i said i'm in the suburbs and we have a bookstore and a 7-eleven and highways and not so much rad stuff. i don't know if i'd describe myself as "bored" though

• watched some football, read internets, drank beer
• did washing, changed bedding
• cleaned bike in bathroom
• subsequently cleaned grease and dirt off bathroom floor @ 1.30am while listening to teh bbc

Was watching Dario Argento's (fucking awful) Phantom of the Opera when it suddenly hit me that a) this was Argento trying to do a Ken Russell movie and b) I could be watching Lair of the White Worm instead.

My boring saturday night has turned into boring 5:25am on a sunday morning.

also, a. and i have keith richards' autobiog on cd with johnny depp narrating -- we haven't dug in yet but it's looking like an attractive option for tonight.

did you download them as a series of zip files? if so, you need to unzip them all at once -- they won't open individually.

Turns out it was just a codec problem- Media Player Classic got it working.

He is pretty cool! The party was for his 30 yr anniversary living in his house. I would have gone over to say hi and bear witness but the windy day left me trapped indoors sneezing my brains out :(

Had an awesome time watching my neighbors partying too hard.

The scene: Baltimore, frat row, 2 am. I go out onto my second floor verandah to have a smoke. I look down and see one of my neighbors, shirtless and incredibly muscular and quite handsome, passed out next to a keg in his hammock, and the weight of his body slowly twists the hammock until his sleeping form is dumped facedown onto the concrete. Smack. Hard. He is stunned, barely conscious, but staggers to his feet. Tries to open his front door. Bangs on door to get attention. Nobody's home. He smashes the window of his own door, reaches through, and opens his front door. He pads up the stairs and out onto his verandah, which faces mine. I ask "are you okay dude?" and he mutters/mumbles "Ahhhmmm twennnnyone today. Sorry but I gotta puke" and then proceeds to shove his fingers down his throat so that he can vomit off the verandah onto our lawn. I tell him "watch out that you don't fall over that rail, it's pretty low". It really looks like he's going to fall off the building while trying to vomit. His friends arrive, walk out onto the verandah, don't notice me because they're looking at him, unzip and start to piss off the verandah, then see me and zip up and say, "Come on dude, you're going out" and proceed to escort his barely conscious but mobile body out the door and into the night, for more partying.

I love my neighbors!
