I skipped Reiser to watch American Idol results, but I guess I'll catch up on hulu to see Rollins.

also Andy with his air punch "Spaghetti!", kung fu kick "Cookie!"
He is fantastic. Oh and "What does this do?" with the bulk coffee dispenser...Im always on the verge of doing that in the local food co-op

Tom's litany of alternate names was a total goldmine. When planning our meals this morning, I suggested making long-ass rice for lunch.

Also lol at Tom's 26 dating profiles differentiated by middle initial. When Leslie said "N", I knew EXACTLY what was about to happen...but it was funny anyway.

the delivery of "I buy all of my food here... and most of my stuff!" was immaculate

As per Johnny Fever's comment (albeit about the "N") you know it's coming but you lose your shit anyway. 12 hours later and I'm still crying with laughter over the "...and most of my stuff" delivery.
That moment with Ron being given fakon and repeatedly chucking it in the bin is just perfect, AND THEN April joins in. This show.

This last episode was so good because it had minimal Adam Scott in it.

― WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Monday, 25 April 2011 02:43 (fifteen years ago)
No, Adam Scott is turning into the show's Jim Halpert, except the only thing he's doing is staring at the camera w/o ever really being funny in other ways. Sucks too, because I like Adam Scott, but he's really becoming an irritant on P&R.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 25 April 2011 03:10 (fifteen years ago)
To you maybe
― VegemiteGrrl, Monday, 25 April 2011 03:28 (fifteen years ago)
He's been funny. The whole Adam is awkward on TV/public speaking etc episode a while back was amazing.

I'll agree on this.

I love the teen mayor/major fuckup backstory on him too...
― Dr. Suggestban, or How I Learned to Stop etc. (Drugs A. Money), Monday, 25 April 2011 05:00 (fifteen years ago)
I honestly haven't noticed him staring at the camera much. I like what he's doing, though I agree with those who think he's capable of more.
― Jouster, Monday, 25 April 2011 06:10 (fifteen years ago)
this and the last episode are the first two where i felt like scott was being used well at all
― ban drake (the rapper) (max), Monday, 25 April 2011 12:29 (fifteen years ago)
really the only time Adam Scott is irritating to me on this show is the stupid little gesture he makes in the opening credits
― some dude, Monday, 25 April 2011 13:07 (fifteen years ago)
is there a youtube montage of jim from The Office giving those looks of his to the camera? how many years can a person do that?
(whenever i see jim or pam in an ad for a movie i barf. they should never ever be allowed in movies.)
― scott seward, Monday, 25 April 2011 14:13 (fifteen years ago)
pam was pretty funny (and really hot) in walk hard

you know who would have been even funnier and hotter in that role in walk hard? almost anybody else on earth!

I can confirm that I would not have been any hotter than Pam in Walk Hard.

John Krasinski was awful in Away We Go. He has the emotional range of a urinal cake. But then, that movie pretty much sucked all around.

Was going to say myself.
otoh, loved it when leslie says at dinner, "Just between you and me, Tom," and he looks into the camera for a beat before saying, "okay?"
― Pleasant Plains, Monday, 25 April 2011 14:45 (fifteen years ago)
not w/ you on the 'hating Jenna Fischer' tip, skot: her genuine charm in front of the camera made Jon Krasinski seem way more tolerable and for far longer than he would have otherwise...
― Dr. Suggestban, or How I Learned to Stop etc. (Drugs A. Money), Monday, 25 April 2011 15:58 (fifteen years ago)
Adam Scott is nowhere near the camera-looker that John Krasinski is in The Office, but the few times he's done it (in the opening credits and a couple times in the epilogue) just make me want to walk him aside and say "I get it, okay? But there's probably a way to do what you're doing without looking as much like an 'I'm above all this' asshole."
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 25 April 2011 16:05 (fifteen years ago)
But he kind of did it in Party Down too. Not that that's an excuse, but with a whole cast of somewhat eccentric characters Adam Scott gets to be bemused onlooker.
And doesn't April do this a lot too? Or she did until her and Andy hooked up.
― VegemiteGrrl, Monday, 25 April 2011 16:25 (fifteen years ago)
Nobody did it in Party Down, really. Wasn't faux documentary like P&R and Office. Some of April's best scenes involve her looking knowingly at the camera imo. It's the one reason I forgive P&R for copping that Office style.
― rockapads, Monday, 25 April 2011 16:30 (fifteen years ago)
I dunno. Just the few times that has happened it rubbed me the wrong way. He's fine as Ben the rest of the time, though the Ben/Leslie thing still seems a little forced as he really hasn't done much that's charming or endearing yet.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 25 April 2011 16:31 (fifteen years ago)
agree with that. though I'm glad they are not doing this, it seems like Ron & Leslie would be the natural unrequited romance storyline in the show to me.
― rockapads, Monday, 25 April 2011 16:42 (fifteen years ago)
Adam scott is a good comic actor, Krasinski is barely an actor, full stop. The looks at the camera don't really bug me, but I can get why ppl might get worn out seeing it. He's great in those scenes like the media blitz episode and the bit with Lil Sebastian.

Scott >>>>>> Krasinski for sure
I avoided this show for a long time fearing an 'Office' clone but it is in fact far superior. Huzzah.
― Simon H. Shit (Simon H.), Monday, 25 April 2011 17:27 (fifteen years ago)
It WAS a lame Office clone for most of its abbreviated first season, but it came back in its second year with most of the similarities stripped out and a bunch of funny in its place.
