it's two parts!?
― some dude, Friday, 22 April 2011 14:13 (fifteen years ago)
i liked 30 rock last night but this episode took the thursday night cake. and even parks & rec was awesome too and this episode still took the cake. 30 rock ended up looking a little lazy with their actual flashback montages. the whole ghost town thing...

What is The Cape?
When Abed sneaks up on Jeff in the cafeteria and knocks over his food, I laughed so hard my dad knocked on my door to see what was happening.
― popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Friday, 22 April 2011 14:51 (fifteen years ago)
The Cape was a failed NBC superhero show from earlier this season. Never saw it, but by all accounts it was awful.
― 'what are you, the Hymen Protection League of America?' (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Friday, 22 April 2011 14:52 (fifteen years ago)
IT WAS
― I just like… I just have to say… (Starts crying) (DJP), Friday, 22 April 2011 14:52 (fifteen years ago)
lol at Abed yelling "six seasons and a movie!" about The Cape.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 22 April 2011 15:00 (fifteen years ago)
I laughed hard about that, and pretty much all the Cape stuff, too
― rockapads, Friday, 22 April 2011 15:55 (fifteen years ago)
Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas, I believe, was the first. That may not be the actual title.

Modern Warfare?
― rockapads, Friday, 22 April 2011 16:31 (fifteen years ago)
p sure modern warfare could be a course
― just sayin, Friday, 22 April 2011 16:33 (fifteen years ago)
yah "Modern Warfare" is definitely a course title. and the pilot was just called "Pilot" obv. the only one i'm kind of on the fence about is "Pascal's Triangle Revisited."
― some dude, Friday, 22 April 2011 16:35 (fifteen years ago)
I guess I'll take your word for it. It's a hard thing to Google, with all of the Call of Duty and Community references.
― rockapads, Friday, 22 April 2011 16:37 (fifteen years ago)
I'm sure Modern Warfare is a 101 course at most of the service colleges, and would probably extend into civilian colleges for ROTC programs and whatever.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 22 April 2011 16:39 (fifteen years ago)
The Cape was incredibly awful, and every single one of those Cape jokes had me rolling

Naturalization rules are effed up and probably constructed during a Christmas party after everyone had already gotten wasted on punch.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 22 April 2011 21:24 (fifteen years ago)
i missed the beginning of the whole Cape bit so spent the whole time trying to figure out if it was a callback to his Batman costume in the Halloween episode or something else. need to rewatch that, because i wasted a few hours of my life on episodes of The Cape and could use some cathartic laughs to heal the pain.
― some dude, Friday, 22 April 2011 21:35 (fifteen years ago)
thought this episode was really good
― dearth of the hipster (Lamp), Friday, 22 April 2011 21:37 (fifteen years ago)
i missed the beginning of the whole Cape bit
Troy and Abed were in Abed's dorm room getting ready to watch the premiere episode of The Cape when Britta came in and changed it to the news. 2 or 3 more things happened after that, which I'm assuming it was you saw.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 22 April 2011 21:43 (fifteen years ago)
Holy shit.
Want to put in a word for the Dean's cartoon as well.
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Friday, 22 April 2011 23:23 (fifteen years ago)
well i mean i was watching but distracted during the first few minutes of the show -- so i just missed the line explaining that the reason Abed was wearing a cape was because of the show The Cape

― poplocking nazis from space (CaptainLorax), Saturday, 23 April 2011 22:01 (fifteen years ago)
I like how Abed was able to tell by the littlest clue that Jeff and Britta hooked up on the paintball episode but it took him forever to realize they were still hooking up despite the biggest clues ever

WHATS DEAN GOT TO DO WITH IT was possibly the best thing in the whole episode/series/television history.
Also feline aids awareness? obv did not catch that wtf.

And "whip it in the keister," like cats get feline AIDS by having anal sex.
Or am I the only one that made that connection?

vexsten 97 points98 points99 points 2 days agoGlee club dying (in a flashback from the last episode)--wish of the death of Glee the TV show?– danharmon 594 points595 points596 points 2 days agoI have no idea what you mean. There was a glee club at Greendale, and their bus was driving on a rainy night, and a downed power line was hanging across the road, and the bus drove through it, and it sliced through the bus and decapitated everyone, row by row, so that the people in the back had to watch all their friends get decapitated, then they got decapitated, and then the bus drove into a pool of lava. And I guess the crazy thing is, the electricity from the power line somehow kept their nervous systems "alive," so they could feel the lava. They didn't escape the pain of the lava just because they didn't have heads. They felt the lava. It was terrible but it was not metaphorical in any way. I would never be that petty and envious of another show's popularity.
