I think you should email the wife to let her know about the cocaine and hookers that these guys are planning on procuring for their ski trip.

Jenny, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:26 (eighteen years ago)

Those peacock shoes look gorgeous and uncomfortable.

KitCat, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:28 (eighteen years ago)

Eventually we'll be able to exaggerate this to the point that they are the leaders of multi-national drug cartel that dabbles in sex trafficking and launders their money through their debt consolidation fronts. All because one of their number is a douchbag who counts "pussy" as one of the pros of a Colorado ski resort.

Jenny, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:28 (eighteen years ago)

That's it, I'm calling the DEA.

Laurel, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:31 (eighteen years ago)

Those blue shoes are a beautiful color, btw. I'm afraid of suede pretty much across the board, but that depth of color is tempting....

Laurel, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:32 (eighteen years ago)

Fred looks like our IT guy.

n/a, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:33 (eighteen years ago)

Colette, I can't wear heels either, for the same reasons. My mother actually gave me grief on my last visit home for spending my formative foot-growth years wearing "those awful Birkenstocks" and never getting properly acclimated to uncomfortable shoes.

Go for it.

I have a lot of wheelin' and dealin' going on these days:

* just posted for-sale ad for my guitar on craigslist, so I can:
* buy the guitar I want from Chi. Music Exchange
* also might go see a guy about some drum mics tomorrow
* need to find someone who is willing to fix up my 8-track recorder

n/a, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:35 (eighteen years ago)

(Although that's Howard's, not Fred's wife.)

jaymc, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:36 (eighteen years ago)

NOTE: I DO NOT REALLY THINK ANYBODY SHOULD EMAIL ANYBODY'S WIFE. NOR DO I THINK THESE GUYS ARE CRIMINALS. I THINK THEY ARE JUST DING DONGS.

Jenny, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:38 (eighteen years ago)

BEING A DING DONG IS NOT A CRIME.

Jenny, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:38 (eighteen years ago)

I SHOULD KNOW BECAUSE I AM ALMOST A LAWYER.

Jenny, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:39 (eighteen years ago)

I agree, I am just trying to get all "so not gonna happen" on these guys.

jaymc, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:40 (eighteen years ago)

I would LOVE to go on a skiing trip with some non-ding-dongs. Let's do it.

kenan, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:41 (eighteen years ago)

Your internet sleuthing skillz are impressive, I have to admit.

xp

Jenny, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:41 (eighteen years ago)

xp Without so much coke or pussy, obv. But skiing, hot tubbing, sitting in front of a fire... these are all things devoutly to be wish'd.

kenan, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:42 (eighteen years ago)

I am into all those things, minus actual skiing (confession: have never tried it).

KitCat, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:44 (eighteen years ago)

it's totally fun and incredibly exhausting.

kenan, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:45 (eighteen years ago)

I hate skiing/snowboarding with a somewhat alarming intensity, but I would gladly get shit hammered in the lodge while the rest of youse try your damnedest to break your necks sliding down the side of a mountain.

xp - Sarah, just get shit hammered with me. Forget those jerks.

Jenny, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:45 (eighteen years ago)

Wow, John!

Fred looks Jewish. I searched my gmail and discovered that he has e-mailed me by mistake once in the past, to send a Rosh Hashanah-related youtube video.

Jordan, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:47 (eighteen years ago)

Btw, Howard is the pussy douchebottle.

Jordan, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:47 (eighteen years ago)

I will not e-mail anyone's wife but it is weird to think that I could.

Jordan, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:48 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I think I'm in the kind of physical condition that I would go out for an hour and then be all like, "I need a shower and a sweater and a drink with amaretto in it."

kenan, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:48 (eighteen years ago)

I have only done cross-country skiing. It is very tiring. I went on a ski trip with my dad, my friend, and my friend's dad in Austria. By the time we got back to the lodge in the evening after skiing all day, I was starving. For dinner was fish. You have to realize that as finicky a eater as I am now, I was worse in middle school (when this happened). Plus I have never liked fish. Plus plus this fish was served whole and complete, with head and eyes intact. But I was so tired and so hungry that I ate that fish, and it was delicious.

n/a, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:48 (eighteen years ago)

Skiing is fun! So is pussy (if you're a straight man or a lesbian).

Jordan, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:53 (eighteen years ago)

More $ for pussy, obv.

dan m, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:54 (eighteen years ago)

They like to front like they was ballers, but they just smalltime.

Jesse, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:55 (eighteen years ago)

True, but a bunch of dudes spending $800 each on accommodations, looking to bro down away from the wifes...I would have thought that getting drunk up front would be SOP.

Jordan, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:55 (eighteen years ago)

This makes me wonder who we've sent mass emails to in the past...

KitCat, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 18:56 (eighteen years ago)

SOP?

Someone else to Google!

dan m, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 19:04 (eighteen years ago)

i had to go back to see what sarah said she liked except skiing. i'm kinda relieved it doesn't seem to be the 'pussy and coke' part of the weekend, but would have respected her choices if it were.

jenny, i'm on a constant search for 'cute comfortable' shoes, but also think i may try to learn to wear slightly less comfy shoes so i can wear things i love but currently only can use as sculpture.

many, many xposts

colette, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 19:08 (eighteen years ago)

So did these guys meet in the MBA program at Miami that Howard did? That seems more likely than them having met at American U. in D.C. (where Howard did his undergrad) and then all moving down to Florida.

jaymc, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 19:08 (eighteen years ago)

It sounds like some of them are meeting the Ft. Lauderdale crew in Aspen, though?

So when I came back out to my car after lunch, some douchebag driving a shiny new BMW SUV had parked at an angle in the spot next to mine and left about 7 inches between my car and his at my driver's side door. Deciding I really didn't want to crawl through the passenger side I opened my door and squeezed my way in. I didn't throw the door open, nor was I extra gentle either. So I left a little ding in the side of his door. Does that make me an asshole?

My fiancee seems to think so.

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 19:10 (eighteen years ago)

This is totally sad. I have four Firefox tabs open. One is ILX, and the other three are 1) driving directions from Parkland to Weston, FL, 2) Fred's accounting firm's website, and 3) a Google search for Howard's wife's name.

jaymc, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 19:11 (eighteen years ago)

I am currently picturing Jaymc as the internet version Jake Gyllenhal's character in Zodiac.
