it's a minute till halftime. but pick from here, depending on how you want to watch it

popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Monday, 11 April 2011 19:51 (fifteen years ago)

Was so certain that LFC were going to be Pardewed tonight I almost didn't watch.

Stevie T, Monday, 11 April 2011 19:51 (fifteen years ago)

Half-time snapshot from Phil McNulty at Anfield: "Liverpool in complete command and Manchester City in complete disarray. Liverpool have been all over City like a rash while Roberto Mancini's side have barely raised a gallop. And Carlos Tevez has added injury to the insult of City's first half display."

Algerian Goalkeeper, Monday, 11 April 2011 19:53 (fifteen years ago)

Flanagan looks tidy at RB and Spearing is playing ok, despite a couple of sloppy touches. What with Kelly and Coady, looks like we could have a 50% scouse team in a couple of years.

Stevie T, Monday, 11 April 2011 19:54 (fifteen years ago)

Easy.

Carroll's 2nd goal was like Drogba at his best. Unplayable.

BBC Radio 5 live's Craig Burley on a wild Balotelli shot over the bar: " That was more Jack Duckworth from the Rovers than Roy of the Rovers."

RETIRE THIS JOKE FORMAT

MPx4A, Monday, 11 April 2011 20:04 (fifteen years ago)

Just seen the goals. What a hit for the first, but the third is the most exciting, yeah - there's nothing anyone can do about a guy like that. Suarez hit the post as well!

Ismael Klata, Monday, 11 April 2011 20:06 (fifteen years ago)

yeah guys like Drogba & Carroll can be unplayable when they are in the mood.

Algerian Goalkeeper, Monday, 11 April 2011 20:24 (fifteen years ago)

Liverpool's closing down tonight is a piece of art.

popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Monday, 11 April 2011 20:25 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, they look like a totally different side tonight.

Algerian Goalkeeper, Monday, 11 April 2011 20:28 (fifteen years ago)

man city on the other hand dont seem to know what they're doing

Algerian Goalkeeper, Monday, 11 April 2011 20:30 (fifteen years ago)

doesn't help when your manager is the worst the league has seen since tony mowbray

popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Monday, 11 April 2011 20:32 (fifteen years ago)

liverpool finally looking like a footy team tonight, great stuff.

if you wanna gamble, take that shit to vegas (Ste), Monday, 11 April 2011 22:14 (fifteen years ago)

Congratulations to Liverpool and their players and staff on this excellent victory over a dislikeable team.

the pinefox, Monday, 11 April 2011 22:18 (fifteen years ago)

meireles is a really brilliant player, like he is starting to look the heart and soul of that team.

thought suarez looked fucked by the last 30 mins, he was miscontrolling everything.

Will.Have.Known (Local Garda), Monday, 11 April 2011 23:03 (fifteen years ago)

BBC Parliament are showing the Football Governance Committee now on Sky Channel 504.

territory of the magic wand (Chris), Monday, 11 April 2011 23:35 (fifteen years ago)

Raul's class.

But this season's been all about Lucas for me. God I love him. The look on his face after his shot landed in the back row of the Kop cracked me up.

territory of the magic wand (Chris), Tuesday, 12 April 2011 00:01 (fifteen years ago)

Liverpool could be amazing in a couple of seasons time, they've always been good defensively but Mereiles + Carroll + Suarez is the start of one hell of an attacking force.

Cheers for that anyway Liverpool. All we have to do is win all our remaining games, including against Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool, and we're back in the CL for next year. Oh shit.

no

The Geirogeirgegege (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 12 April 2011 12:26 (fifteen years ago)

they've not always been good defensively, but meireles carroll and suarez is quite encouraging.

Will.Have.Known (Local Garda), Tuesday, 12 April 2011 14:09 (fifteen years ago)

They were amazingly fluid last night, combined with the pressing (and an abject City) it looked amazing, frankly, and I hardly even saw any of the first half. Certainly it was nothing like watching them in the first half of the season. Meireles was already good and is getting more on it with every game, Suarez was fantastic from day one, and I don't know how anyone can't be excited about Carroll after that.

But y'know, good post.

Buy two direct wingers, replace all their centre halves and keep Reina and they'll be a lock for 4th.

Andrey, are you going to come back to Russia after your football career is over? Natalia.
AA: I’ll be in Saint-Petersburg soon.

I really hope Alexis Sanchez doesn't go to City

On the contrary, I like bears.

Jlloyd, I'm ready to be heartbroken (ken c), Wednesday, 13 April 2011 10:02 (fifteen years ago)

some rumours about today that villas boas is going to be liverpool boss at the end of the season. not sure how to feel, if it's true (and it probably isn't) he better hope he gets off to an extremely good start.

Will.Have.Known (Local Garda), Wednesday, 13 April 2011 10:20 (fifteen years ago)

That one has been floating around for a while no?

Number None, Wednesday, 13 April 2011 10:21 (fifteen years ago)

maybe yeah...just read it this morning via bbc gossip myself.

would be a gamble but if they are to get a top manager it's going to be via gambling on early promise since after that they'd just go somewhere else.

Will.Have.Known (Local Garda), Wednesday, 13 April 2011 10:24 (fifteen years ago)

i dunno is it wise to start laying down early vilka boas constrictions

the salmon of procrastination (darraghmac), Wednesday, 13 April 2011 10:27 (fifteen years ago)

you're right prefabricated villas-boas prejudices wouldn't necessarily be built on secure foundations.

Will.Have.Known (Local Garda), Wednesday, 13 April 2011 10:31 (fifteen years ago)

he'll need some timeshare to make a property market snake joke

the salmon of procrastination (darraghmac), Wednesday, 13 April 2011 10:33 (fifteen years ago)

so do people genuinely think Dalglish won't get this job?

the pinefox, Wednesday, 13 April 2011 10:55 (fifteen years ago)

probably worth waiting a bit before ruffling boas' feathers imo

Jlloyd, I'm ready to be heartbroken (ken c), Wednesday, 13 April 2011 10:56 (fifteen years ago)

Would be politically virtually impossible to let Dalglish go unless they were replacing him with, like, Guardiola or someone. It's still difficult to tell quite how good he is, or can be, though.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 13 April 2011 11:02 (fifteen years ago)

Dalglish could step aside or upstairs or whatever or be persuaded to. Up to him really.

Tom D (Tom D.), Wednesday, 13 April 2011 11:06 (fifteen years ago)

Rooney gives an interview about saying the wrong thing in front of the TV cameras to Torksport's Keysey and Graysy.

I wonder what gave those two particular former Sky Sports presenters the insight to etc etc.

James Mitchell, Wednesday, 13 April 2011 11:12 (fifteen years ago)

it was just banter

Will.Have.Known (Local Garda), Wednesday, 13 April 2011 12:25 (fifteen years ago)

I've never seen a Villas Boas team play, but loads of people saying if Dalglish doesn't get the job then he's the man they'd want. Dalglish will get the job though.
