using only my tongue to break a pringles into pieces makes me feel tough for some reason

dayo, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 01:15 (fifteen years ago)

it's like an lame version of being able to unwrap a starburst or tie a cherry stem into a knot w/ your tongue

This is adorbs. You should really move into the world of 8-bit snack illustration.

Publicidad de Sexo (Abbbottt), Tuesday, 5 April 2011 01:19 (fifteen years ago)

lately when i walk down to the mailbox with the toddler we'll go into the nearby High's and grab a snack, usually Pringles, and i'll try some weird flavor just to really highlight our unhealthy indulgence. best one so far has been loaded baked potato, disappointed i can't vote for it.

Publicidad de Sexo (Abbbottt), Tuesday, 5 April 2011 01:21 (fifteen years ago)

I remembered why I always think of Pringles as slightly geexy: http://www.binarywolf.com/249/pringles_cantenna.htm

Just bought from P&G by the maker of Kettle Chips.

James Mitchell, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 12:16 (fifteen years ago)

Kettle Chips has a 'fully loaded baked potato' flavor btw

Mark G, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 13:10 (fifteen years ago)

No mention of chewed up pringles/resultant paste between two pringles? Shame on you all.

They did pizza-flavoured ones once, which would surely have caused this thread to explode. The correct answer, anyway, is sour cream and onion.

ailsa, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 13:17 (fifteen years ago)

I think everyone has been mentally adding "resultant paste" to every post on this thread.

Or maybe that's just me.

whelping at his sandpapery best (DJP), Tuesday, 5 April 2011 13:19 (fifteen years ago)

Oh, I never noticed pizzalicious on the poll, my bad. They were quite nice actually, but I haven't seen them in the UK for years, and they didn't taste like any form of pizza I've ever eaten.

^^ the best pizza potato chip

dayo, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 13:37 (fifteen years ago)

I hope this poll gets more voters than mine did.

Best Pringle since?

three megabytes of hot RAM (abanana), Tuesday, 5 April 2011 13:49 (fifteen years ago)

I did a Pringles search and didn't see that!

Darin, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 14:52 (fifteen years ago)

Pringles rule! fuiud...
Bugles are awesome, fuiud

I had never heard the Mitch Hedberg joke about Pringles mentioned upthread and have just now composed myself enough to be able to see while typing /dying over here

VegemiteGrrl, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 18:58 (fifteen years ago)

The thing with Bugles is that, they rock on their own. BUT they're even better when you spray aerosol cheese into them and make little Bugle-and-cheese ice cream cones.

Tarfumes The Escape Goat, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 20:55 (fifteen years ago)

omg

<D

VegemiteGrrl, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 20:58 (fifteen years ago)

that sounds terrifyingly good and I will probably never attempt it in my lifetime or they will be lifting me out of the house with a crane upon my death

VegemiteGrrl, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 20:59 (fifteen years ago)

wow Pringles brand sold for 1.5 billion! I do not remember what they even taste like. I do remember being underwhelmed which is, when you consider that they are entirely manufactured and have unlimited potential for dazzling taste buds the world over, a travesty. I mean Funyuns made onions fun again.

brownie, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 22:41 (fifteen years ago)

Procter & Gamble owned Pringles for a long time.... I always thought it telling that Pringles were made by a soap/detergent/toothpaste company, not a food company.

Lee626, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 22:57 (fifteen years ago)

It's like crack with advance warning. So since you know it might fuck you up long-term, just go on a Bugles-n-aerosol-cheese bender, and then walk away. I do this once a year. I use my vacation time from work.

Tarfumes The Escape Goat, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 02:57 (fifteen years ago)

i'm not sure if i can take people who like Bugles seriously. I look down on all those snack foods that never seem to be on grocery store shelves, but only show up in vending machines, drugstores, gas stations, etc. See also: Andy Capp Hot Fries, Munchos, Funyons, and most anything else bearing a name that's embarrassing to say aloud.

dell (del), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:03 (fifteen years ago)

u really must hate life and fun

VegemiteGrrl, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:05 (fifteen years ago)

no i just take snack foods more seriously than you Funyon People.

dell (del), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:06 (fifteen years ago)

tiny little toasts with liver paste do not count as snacks ITT if that is what you are getting at

VegemiteGrrl, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:07 (fifteen years ago)

Salt & Vinegar will always be the best chip/crisp flavor by a substantial margin, so I feel a vote for that would be mostly unspecific to Pringles.

Their take on SC&O, on the other hand, bests pretty much all comers in the chain-supermarket snack aisle circuit.

nah, i'm just into legit stuff. y'know, like what you'd find in the chain-supermarket snack aisle circuit

dell (del), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:12 (fifteen years ago)

^that's the only place I've ever seen Bugles. Never seen them in vending machines or at gas stations.

Tarfumes The Escape Goat, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:14 (fifteen years ago)

If Funyuns are not considered legitimate snack food, then let us extol the virtues of illegitimate snack food.

Grotjahn in the Moma (Pillbox), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:15 (fifteen years ago)

If your grocery store does not stock Bugles or Funyuns is it REALLY a grocery store?

VegemiteGrrl, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:20 (fifteen years ago)

^that's the only place I've ever seen Bugles. Never seen them in vending machines or at gas stations.

whaa? i don't recall ever seeing them offered by a LEGITIMATE grocer. maybe a save-a-lot or aldi-type place... mostly i've just seen them at skeevier gas stations, vending machines of seedy motels, severely understocked bodegas that are fronts for drug businesses, that sort of thing. it's not so much that they're downmarket, even...they're just sort of, well, sleazy. compared to something more on the chaste spectrum, y'know, like a ruffle or a pringle... or even a tostito.

most of those aforementioned non-legit snacks are not even recognized by the american snack association. look it up on your internet, i'm not making this up.

dell (del), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:23 (fifteen years ago)

Pringles are on sale like 3 big tins for CAD $5 at this bourgeois IGA in the middle of a crack and heroin zone. No one's buying 'em at regular price.

Scooped up, um, extreme ranch, dill pickle, smokey barbecue or something. Extreme ranch was good eating on its own. Dill pickle I mostly put them in a ziploc bag and bashed them up to put them in my tuna sandwiches. That was pretty tight. Smokey barbecue tasted a bit like an ashtray but I finished them.

Used to love the jalapeño ones when I was a dope smoker. They were fucking hardcore. None of the shit I just bought measures up. This poll is bullshit. Fuck this.

i like my Pringles the same way i like my internet message boards. "ethnic" and salty, and of course heavy on the maltodextrin

dell (del), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:29 (fifteen years ago)

gtfo with your tostitos Del

hehheh

never thought i would see the day when i'd be hounded in my own country simply for extolling the virtues of round salty goodness

herr's chips always seem like they've been stomped on before being sent out to the stores. it's really quite frustrating.

dell (del), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:34 (fifteen years ago)

y'all i have a tube of original pringles w/ me atm

markers, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:35 (fifteen years ago)

dell, ya gotta go to whoever does the biggest volume - I get mine fresh from shoprite.

dayo, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 03:36 (fifteen years ago)

it's actually been proven though that the best herr's come from the smallest bags - the 25 cent bags are best, followed by the 69 and 99 cent ones. teh family size ones are horribly inconsistent.
