My last post probably sounds like I'm not grateful for what Kenny's done, which isn't the case at all. Results have improved and the football pre-Carroll has been decent. It's the memory lane attitude among some fans that bugs me, but I guess you get that at every club, and it's probably impossible to shake off. Carragher won't get the job so there's no point me getting worked up about it. Looking forward to seeing how it all pans out. Makes a change from talking about leveraged buyouts!

Watching MOTD, my (American) dad remarked on the caption given to Dalglish: "Caretaker Manager". This title doesn't exist in American sports. I suppose its meaning is clear enough, but why is it necessary to mention the "Caretaker" angle? Don't pretty much all managers live on borrowed time? And if he does a terrific job, wouldn't they want him to stay?

Nemanja Vidic - strong case to be made, would sum up this Premiership season in some ways, won't win

United's defence has been way dodgy this year but without Vidic it wouldn't be a defence capable of winning the title, even for allowing for chokiness from everyone else.

Very true. Parker's probably made more bad career choices than any other English player I can think of.

Forgot he existed. But yeah SWP has made two big clangers but a career that goes Charlton -> Chelsea -> Newcastle -> West Ham is a textbook example of how not to advance your career.

So the shortlist should have been all Utd players basically. Including Scholes and Giggs naturally

bale, and i've said this before, has 'assisted' crouch, defoe and pavlyuchenko to the tune of about 30 missed sitters. Where's the stat for that?
