had a gd long chat w martin. he doesn't want his illness to be any kind of secret and is happy for ppl to talk abt it on ilx. he also thanked ppl for their emails and gd wishes, here and elsewhere.

This is really upsetting. RIP Martin. Wasn't expecting it as the last email i got from him was on june 21st and he said he was hoping for 2 or 3 months without treatment as the growth had stopped growing due to chemo and hoped he could put some weight back on that he had lost.

Martin was one of the first ILX people I got to know when I first came here a decade ago and I always enjoyed chatting with him either here or over IM. This is a bit of a shock because I haven't been in close touch with him recently. We all lost one of the good guys today. :(
