anyhow mea culpa for hijacking this thread but i will be on jeopardy in a couple weeks (tuesday april 12 to be precise)

jaymc has covered a lot of the procedural background but i am kinda stoked about finally seeing this on tv

actually as far as i can tell this is very representative of who's on jeopardy these days period

all i would like to point out, in terms of a semi-spoiler, is that i got one amazingly specific-to-my-interests category ("FICTIONAL BANDS IN MOVIES") that couldn't have been written as better ilxor-bait (iirc there are like four lengthy threads in ilm about that very subject)

the running joke among my friends going in was that i was hoping for something along the lines of "THE 2003 NCAA TOURNAMENT," but that was pretty dang close

I said Nixon just as a guess. I knew there was some distance between his VP stint and POTUS stint, but I had no clue when the Senators were in DC each time.

Surely it's aired on the west coast by now, so no... he didn't win. He had a brief killer run in Round 2, though, when there was a category about fictional bands in movies (if ever there was an ILX-type category, that's one).

Final question was about presidents and baseball. Other two answered correctly, D4n had no answer. :(

My answer in FJ had no bearing on the game - dude had me covered regardless of Stephanie's wager (which itself was crazy low).

and yeah, getting defeated by tim is def respectable. dude's almost definitely going to tournament of champions (he beat a gd PUB TRIVIA EDITOR who had won for 6 days in a row!!)

tim's mexican state run was pretty stunning (to this person who knows nothing of mexico)

Tim was just a killer on the buzzer - there was plenty of stuff that both she and I knew, especially in DJ, that he was just way too fast on

so when was the last time you fired up that hibachi

Also it's worth noting that that story was 100% true and that hibachi was 100% disgusting - I'm pretty sure it had clumps of food stuck to it from the night before
