Thanks... checking the schedule, there's nothing from after 1966 though. They should have a second tribute day.

Fritz Lang's Ministry Of Fear tonight

three megabytes of hot RAM (abanana), Wednesday, 30 March 2011 17:23 (fifteen years ago)

Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles -- I'd never heard of this before, but seeing it was showing later tonight, I read up on it a little -- I really wish I had a DVR.

your generation appalls me (Dr Morbius), Monday, 18 April 2011 03:43 (fifteen years ago)

Why is Shotgun Stories on TCM late Monday night?

Also, if you haven't seen it and are severely disappointed with the career path David Gordon Green has taken, I recommend it.

Gukbe, Thursday, 28 April 2011 04:46 (fifteen years ago)

Question answered! it is a tribute to Ebertfest.

Gukbe, Tuesday, 3 May 2011 05:29 (fifteen years ago)

I didn't know Faulkner had been adapted to the screen this early -- does anybody have an opinion on The Story of Temple Drake (1933)? It's about to come on.

Antonio Carlos Broheem (WmC), Wednesday, 14 September 2011 23:57 (fourteen years ago)

Goodness, that was a bit scandalous.

Antonio Carlos Broheem (WmC), Thursday, 15 September 2011 01:19 (fourteen years ago)

watching this right now and its fucking awesome!!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5e3ttvlymI

the "duovision" thing is srsly next level!!! weird that the trailer doesnt employ the same technique... but like, the entire movie is two shots in split screen. its like watching two cuts of the same same movie, showing two different views of the same plot the whole time

also it takes place at the hotel del corodano (sup, ned)

 (gr8080), Saturday, 17 September 2011 08:08 (fourteen years ago)

like the video to semisonic's "closing time" but instead of a band in one half of the screen its different shots of the scene in the other frame, or shots of what the characters in the other frame are talking about, or shots of someone on the other side of the hotel doing something sneaky.

i'm so into this!!

Johnny Fever, Friday, 14 October 2011 14:23 (fourteen years ago)

Hey I watched Wicked Wicked too -- it was pretty great! The stabber reminded me so much of Jeffrey Dahmer that I felt genuinely creeped out for a while. His mask was gross. The songs were also awesome.

Duovision kind of made me want to barf though, too overstimulating.

Art Arfons (La Lechera), Friday, 14 October 2011 14:31 (fourteen years ago)
