i watched a full episode and laughed a good bit but srsly the only difference between these guys and Tenacious D is that they murmur.

Saw for first time last night -- not for me, I think. I would like to swear off now and remain rather fondly uninterested, but if I kept watching I think I could come to hate them, hate them all.

I saw an episode on BBC4 the other day - not quite a patch on the Radio 2 series! Yet, anyway.

I need to stay away from alcohol. Forever. I feel so shitty right now.

Anyway...love this show. Watched all the episodes on demand about a week ago. It is basically "Tenacious Twee" but that works fine for me as i loved the original Tenacious D HBO show. I think FOTC have better songs, though.

Jermaine's my favorite of the two. He resembles my friend Justin (even sounds like him!), except skinny and from New Zealand.

Murray is just a great character.

I don't know why anybody would prefer the stage show to the TV program: I saw some of those on YouTube and it looks like THEY ARE LAUGHING AT THEIR OWN JOKES. Well smirking at least. A little too They Might Be Giants for me. Plus the acoustic guitars interfere with their dance moves.

laurel, the first ep i watched i felt the same way but it only took another to hook me in.

Oh wow I just saw Ep 1 of this and it's my new favourite programme.

The one where a woman who works in a coffee shop tells one of the boys that she's shipping out to Iraq as a sniper in order to get him to sleep with her. And it comes out that their band manager has paid for like four boxes of sawdust instead of copies of their CD b/c he did a deal with someone "under the bridge". Etc.

I just saw it too (hurray freeview) and yeah, it's pretty good.

The songs are easily the best bits, though. That and "I'm looking for an Australian", which was during a song anyway.

The New Zealand posters in their manager's office were priceless.

OMG, of all the episodes to not be feeling! The big reveal on her teenage-boy infertility / blueballs technique get me laughing just vaguely thinking about it.
